Sony has bought an 11 percent stake in Olympus for $644 million with the hopes of providing advances in medical imaging and camera lenses.

Rovio did it again! Just 3 hours after its launch, the company’s latest game Bad Piggies went on top of the U.S. AppStore charts.
The news come from Rovio’s Ville Heijari, who proudly announced the milestone. Still, it isn’t all that surprising, considering the Finns’ track record with mobile games. Read more »

Valve announced back in July that they are planning on bringing Steam to the Linux platform, starting with Ubuntu. They have now announced the next steps in this initiative and that includes beta testing priviledges for a few luccky users.

After being exclusive to the Amazon Appstore for a while, the developers of Jetpack Joyride have now released the game on Google’s Play Store. As you’d expect, the game is available free of cost.
In case you’re not aware of this game, Jetpack Joyride is a 2D side-scrolling game where you ride a jetpack and have to go as far as possible, thus getting a higher score. You collect coins during the game, which can be used to upgrade your jetpack and the special vehicles that you get in the game. You also collect spin tokens, which let you spin the slot machine at the end of each game. Read more »

BioWare and EA have just announced the Mass Effect Trilogy package. As the name suggests it will offer all three games from the popular sci-fi series and will hit all three major platforms.
The Mass Effect Trilogy will come in a premium foil box with exclusive artwork. There won’t be two versions of the package (male and female Shepard), but BioWare promises some special surprise for the female Shepard fans. Read more »
Just before the Japanese launch of the iPhone 5, three stores were robbed of a total of 191 units. Then about a week ago, an employee of a London O2 store made off with an entire shipment of 250 iPhone 5s, which are worth about £100,000.
Now there’s a report that on Tuesday there was yet another major iPhone 5 theft, which occurred in France. The number of units stolen wasn’t confirmed, but the whole thing played out like a heist movie. Read more »
A survey conducted by research company On Device shows that users who upgraded to Apple’s iOS6 mobile OS aren’t as less happy with their smartphones than they were before the update.
The survey included 16,000 people, and On Device says this is the first time it is seeing such a drop in user satisfaction after an update. The analysts found this pretty surprising, considering how well users reacted to the transition from iOS4 to iOS5. Read more »
