The investment Samsung makes in the marketing of its two latest Android flagships, the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II has paid off not only in massive sales, but also in boosting the brand’s worth, shooting it among the top 10 most valuable in the world.
According to Interbrand’s 13th annual Best Global Brands report, Samsung, for the first time in its history, finds its place in the Top 10 of the prestigious ranking. In fact, it’s now considered the 9th most valuable brand on the planet and is estimated to be worth $32.8 billion. Read more »
Duo Games, in collaboration with Gameloft, has announced a new wireless controller for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Called the Duo Gamer, the set comes with a wireless controller as well as a dock for your iOS device.
The controller has six buttons on it (four on the front and two on the shoulder), two joysticks and a D-Pad. The dock uses a 30-pin connector and has an HDMI-out for connecting to a larger screen, if required. Read more »
Back in August, Steam announced its plan to expand its online store. The plan was to move beyond selling just games and also offer useful software for your computer. Sticking to that plan, Steam has now added a software section with a handful of apps now available for purchase.
The list of software currently includes GameMaker: Studio, 3D-Coat, ArtRage Studio Pro, 3DMark Vantage, 3DMark 11, CameraBag 2 and Source FilmMaker. Other than the first and the last, all other are paid applications and Steam is offering a 10% off discount for the first week. Read more »
Nokia Germany has released a new ad for the Lumia 920 that follows in the footsteps of the recent Samsung ads and chooses to mock the iPhone as a way of advertising their own phone.

Here we go again. Another new iPhone generation and another wave of battery life complaints rises again. I can clearly remember similar stuff going on around the times the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 4, and the iPhone 3GS were released. But is that supposed to be a consolation?

After keeping it in purgatory for a while, Judge Lucy Koh has finally lifted the ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. If you remember, the tablet was banned in the US court after it was found that the device was infringing upon the iPad’s design.
Later on, however, during the recent Apple vs. Samsung legal war, the jury decided that although the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was infringing upon several of Apple’s patents, the design patent wasn’t one of them. And since the ban was due to that particular patent, it would have to be lifted. Read more »
In its latest official, albeit unreleased, promo video, HTC has confirmed that its Windows Phone 8X smartphone will indeed boast 4G LTE connectivity.
As great as this may be, it’s not all that surprising, as the device sports the Snapdragon S4 chipset, which has built in 4G radio and is expected to hit AT&T and Verizon. Read more »
