ASUS has started to roll out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates to its Transformer AiO, a hybrid tablet, which features all the performance of Windows 8 desktop and has the flexibility of an Android tablet.

The latest version addresses that by opting for the new Holo UI guidelines while maintaining some of the look of the previous versions. You will now see flatter textures and typical Holo UI elements such as action bar at the top with an Up button and drop down lists. However, the app still maintains the dark gray background color and the custom fonts that make sure it stands out and doesn’t look like just another Holo app.

Apple higher-ups always say “We’re never going to do X” and later they go and do X anyway – the company was claiming that 9.7″ is the perfect screen size for a tablet and then went and released a smaller, 7.9″ tablet. Can the same happen in the other direction, a tablet with a bigger screen?
Korean site ETNews thinks yes and claims Apple plans to launch an iPad Maxi (no, it’s not going to be called that) in the first half of next year. The publication also suggests that Apple is already talking to parts suppliers that will make the screens.
Google Maps has extended the coverage of its directions for cyclists to cover several more European countries, including Germany, France, Poland, Ireland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

Opera has released the beta version of the next major iteration of their desktop browser, Opera Next 15. By far the biggest change in this update is a switch from Opera’s longstanding rendering engine Presto to the more ubiquitous WebKit based rendering engine.
Other major changes in this version include a completely revamped interface. You’ll notice that the address bar and the search bar have finally been combined into one. The speed dial screen has a new look with support for folders and there are two more tabs for Stash and Discover.
Samsung and Swisscom promoted the fourth generation Galaxy S smartphone in the Zurich Main Station in an interesting manner. Samsung challenged the audience to stare at the Galaxy S4 for 60 minutes straight without looking away – and it wasn’t an easy task due to lots of available distractions.
Samsung promised a free Galaxy S4 smartphone to anyone who managed to stare at the device for 60 minutes non-stop with distractions like police dogs barking, hot dog vendors on fire, musicians, motorcycles driving past your side and crashing and other such attention killers.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 series, including 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch variants, has been priced by online retailer Adorama in the US.
All three models come with various color combinations and internal memory sizes, the cheapest being the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (pictured above) which starts at $199.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a split personality – it’s either powered by a Snapdragon 600 chipset (the I9505) or by Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa (the I9500). It took a while before it became clear which model goes to which country, but now it’s time to find out the answer to a more important question – does it matter?
Typically, Samsung uses Qualcomm chipsets for its US models (due to the chipsets built-in LTE support) and sold their Exynos smartphones elsewhere. Now, the situation is different and the Snapdragon-based model is more common, perhaps due to low manufacturing capacity for the new eight core Exynos chipset.
Samsung has decided to invest further in defending itself against patent infringement cases as well as protecting its already existing patents by establishing a dedicated patent firm in the US.
More specifically, Samsung Display has created a company called Intellectual Keystone Technology (IKT), which specializes in intellectual property and is based in Washington D.C., USA.
With the Galaxy S4 having already leaked in a brown suit, it’s time for the Galaxy Note 8.0 to do the same thing. Renowned leakster evleaks has brought up to light an official Samsung photo of the compact slate in a brown color.
As you can see from the photo above, the S Pen is also going to sport the same color as the tablet, making for one very stylish accessory.
