After pushing the update to the European version of the Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung has now begun rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the US version as well.

Archos is well known for offering affordable tablets but for the first time ever the manufacturer comes out with so good-looking ones.

Over at the now fading away CES 2013 show the France-based company showed off the Titanium line of tablets (70, 80, 101 and 97) – all running Android 4.1, all using IPS screens with dual-core processors and quad-core graphics (that’s 1080p capable), all having sleek aluminum design and all costing under $250. Tablets killed the netbook star, but are notebooks next? According to analysts at NPD DisplaySearch, tablets shipments will overtake laptop shipments this year and will start building a gap to push them out in the following years.

What’s more interesting is that according to NPD‘s projections, the most popular screen size by the year 2017 will be 7.9″ and not the currently popular 7″ or 9.7″/10.1″. Read more »

Samsung has just issued a press-release announcing the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet will be landing on Verizon’s network this month.

Madfinger Games’ sequel to the popular zombie shooter game Dead Trigger looks to be slated for a Q2 2013 release, according to the company’s Twitter feed.

The game is also to be one of the first to be released on Nvidia’s new Tegra 4 SoC, and will feature a THD version designed specifically for Tegra-based Android tablets. Read more »

Acer has just introduced the latest addition to its lineup of Android-running tablets. The new slate is called the rather peculiar B1-A71 and will cost about €119 after taxes. This will make it the most affordable Android 4.1 Jelly Bean slate from a big manufacturer.

That kind of money buys you a 7″ display of WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600 pixels), a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek processor and 8GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card slot.
