Proud owners of a new Nokia N9 are probably more than happy with its unique, quirky and individual OS MeeGo, but for some, that just isn’t enough.

This unusual looking lime green N9 has been demoed on video showcasing its ability to switch between not just one, but seven different mobile operating systems. Updated Nokia Maps v3.08 finds a new home on your Symbian homescreen

Nokia Maps v3.08 is now available for download to Symbian Anna and Belle users and is bringing along some goodies you might want to check out.

First off, Nokia Maps now offers four homescreen widgets, also live traffic services, weather service, improved Drive navigation and more. Nokia Maps already offers lifetime free-of-charge voice-guided navigation across 100 countries with downloadable maps and everything. Read more »

Nokia Maps for Symbian gets a 3.08 update with Weather

The latest version of Nokia Maps, 3.08.203, has just graduated from Beta and is now being seeded to Symbian-running smartphones around the globe. You can get it right now from the software update tool on your device or via the Nokia Suite.

The new Maps app brings a beautiful little weather app to help you plan for the day by the hour or give you a handy five-day overview. It also comes with live traffic routing info in the Drive start screen, a cleaner UI and easier-to-read search results. Read more »

Opera Mini 6.5 now available on iOS, BlackBerry and Symbian, Opera Mobile 11.5 hits Symbian, too

Opera Software has just announced that it’s expanding the availability of the latest versions of its two mobile browsers. Opera Mini 6.5 is now officially available for iOS (both iPhone and iPad), BlackBerry and Symbian as well as Java-enabled phones.

Symbian users are also getting the latest, 11.5, version of the Opera Mini bigger brother, Opera Mobile. As you probably know, the two new Opera browsers are also available on Android, so now they have cover the five most popular platforms worldwid. Read more »

Symbian Anna is about to receive a special service pack, which Nokia says is all about performance.

The Nokia 5800 and 5530 may be three years old now, but this doesn’t mean the Finns will discontinue the updates of the Symbian^1 smartphones. This screams great news for all 5800 and 5530 owners, as they were exempt from the tasty new features Symbian Anna and Belle brought to the table.

Ovi Store gets renamed to Nokia store, built using Qt Quick

Nokia announced back in May that they will be renaming their Ovi services such as the Ovi Store to Nokia Store. The process was supposed to happen later in 2012 and it finally has. The Ovi Store is now officially known as the Nokia Store.
