Nokia Maps v3.08 is now available for download to Symbian Anna and Belle users and is bringing along some goodies you might want to check out.

The latest version of Nokia Maps, 3.08.203, has just graduated from Beta and is now being seeded to Symbian-running smartphones around the globe. You can get it right now from the software update tool on your device or via the Nokia Suite.

Opera Software has just announced that it’s expanding the availability of the latest versions of its two mobile browsers. Opera Mini 6.5 is now officially available for iOS (both iPhone and iPad), BlackBerry and Symbian as well as Java-enabled phones.

Symbian users are also getting the latest, 11.5, version of the Opera Mini bigger brother, Opera Mobile. As you probably know, the two new Opera browsers are also available on Android, so now they have cover the five most popular platforms worldwid. Read more »

Symbian Anna is about to receive a special service pack, which Nokia says is all about performance.

The Nokia N8 is first to get it, with more Symbian Anna-running devices soon to follow its lead. The service pack not only brings better performance but also address some usability issues as well as minor bug fixes. Read more »

NFC is gaining more ground and here at Nokia World, we caught a glimpse of something quite intriguing – an NFC Tag writer application for Symbian.

The Nokia 5800 and 5530 may be three years old now, but this doesn’t mean the Finns will discontinue the updates of the Symbian^1 smartphones. This screams great news for all 5800 and 5530 owners, as they were exempt from the tasty new features Symbian Anna and Belle brought to the table.

Nokia announced back in May that they will be renaming their Ovi services such as the Ovi Store to Nokia Store. The process was supposed to happen later in 2012 and it finally has. The Ovi Store is now officially known as the Nokia Store.

The Nokia Tune competition opened at the start of September and asked musicians, music lovers and Nokia fans everywhere to reinvent the iconic Nokia theme in their own style.
