CyanogenMod is the most popular custom Android ROM out there and it packs some sweet out-of-the-box apps. Previously, they were unavailable outside the CyanogenMod environment, but thanks to the CM Apps utility, you can now install them on just about any ROM.

Google has released an update for the Gmail app on Android. One of the main additions is the presence of a Save to Drive option. Now, along with being able to save attachments to your internal memory, you will also be able to save a file on your Google Drive account, which will save space on your device and make the file accessible from any device that can connect to Google Drive.
Another new feature is support for RTL or right-to-left languages. This includes Arabic, Hebrew and Persian, which are written and read from right to left. It adjusts the UI so it feels more natural to use RTL languages. Read more »
Windows Phone 8.1 Developer’s Preview has been out for weeks and it brought so many new features that even today we keep discovering new ones. The latest one making the rounds is the option to backup 16MP, 18MP, 34MP and 38MP Lumia HD pictures to OneDrive.

Gmail for Android now boasts over 1 billion downloads on the Google Play Store. Gmail is the first app to reach this milestone, after Google Play Services package, which is automatically installed on every certified Android device.
The download counter reflects unique installs and not a total number of downloads, including repeats. Don’t think, however, that there are 1 billion active Android Gmail users, as there are most certainly some abandoned or duplicate accounts. Read more »
