You may know 2K Games from excellent desktop and console series such as Bioshock, Borderlands and Mafia. Their sports division, 2K Sports, has now released a new title for iOS, called 2K Drive.
2K Drive is a racing game but not quite in the same league as your Asphalt or Need for Speed. It’s more along the lines of Real Racing, wherein it is a simulation racing game that tries to be more realistic with believable physics and other characteristics. Activision has released a brand new version of Call of Duty, called Call of Duty: Strike Team, on iOS. The game has been built from the ground up for the mobile platform and features a unique hybrid FPS and third person modes.
Playing first person shooters on consoles is difficult enough as it is with a controller but on a touch device with no physical buttons it is even more frustrating. Activision seems to understand this well, which is why they have offered the choice to play the game in a top down third person mode. Read more »
Microsoft has just revealed the launch date for their next generation Xbox One console. The Xbox One will go on sale in 13 markets around the world on November 22, 2013. This is full week after the PlayStation 4 launch, which is on November 15 in the US.
The 13 markets that will be getting the console on Day 1 include Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. Other markets will be getting the console sometime in 2014. Read more »

Rockstar has just released the official trailer of the upcoming GTA V blockbuster. The game shapes to be the studio’s biggest project to date.
Rockstar has already revealed the main characters – Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Michael is a former bank buster in his early 40s coming back from retirement to earn a few extra bucks. Also in his forties is Trevor, a seasoned criminal and ex-military pilot. Lastly, there’s Franklin, who is in his mid-twenties and is the street hustler. Read more »
Asphalt 8: Airborne is the latest in the long running series of mobile racing games from Gameloft. The previous game in the series — Asphalt 7: Heat — was a phenomenal game and one of the best racing games available on mobile today.
Airborne lets you take to the air, jumping off ramps and performing stunts mid-air with your car. Add to that a new range of cars and tracks, improved graphics and some new gameplay modes and you have all the ingredients for a great sequel. But does all that necessarily make it a great game? We reviewed Contra: Evolution when it was released on iOS back in May. Now, developers Punchbox Studios have also released an Android version of the game on the Play Store for $0.99.
Contra: Evolution, as you can imagine, is an evolved version of the 1987 cult classic. The gameplay and even the general level design is nearly identical but the game has been given a solid shot in the arm with significantly updated visuals that are completely redrawn and not just running at a higher resolution like most ports. Gameloft’s next big release in the Asphalt series of racing games – Asphalt 8: Airborne – has finally been released on the App Store. The Android version of the game should be arriving shortly and even a Windows Phone 8 version is on the cards.

Enough teasing. Blizzard has officially announced the Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls expansion. Along with it the company also launched the game’s opening cinematic trailer. Needless to say, it’s a pure Blizzard masterpiece.

Gameloft has announced its plans to launch a total of 15 games for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 by the end of this year and throughout 2014. Headlining the list is Asphalt 8: Airborne, which hits Android and iOS tomorrow.
Four of the games will be new for the Windows Phone 8 platform, while all 15 will be hitting Windows 8. Read more »

Sony has launched the 12GB model of the PlayStation 3 in the US and Canada. The model has been available internationally for some time now but is only being introduced in North America now.
The 12GB model is priced at $199.99 and is available through Best Buy. Unlike the more capacious models, the 12GB model uses flash drive, although you can still install a hard drive to expand the storage. Read more »
The original Plants vs. Zombies was an enormous success. Initially released on Windows and Mac back in 2009, the game was later ported to iOS next year and several other platforms over the years, including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Android, Windows Phone and even BlackBerry 10. It is one of the most popular tower defense games and also one of the most popular mobile games of all time.
The sequel to this smash hit comes four years after the original. However, the late release is not the only thing the ‘It’s about time’ tagline is referring to. The game travels through various time periods and lets you play in different locations. The new game also features some brand new plants, zombies, gameplay mechanics and game modes.
