Last year Warner Bros. released Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita. The game is based on Batman: Arkham Origins that was released on the consoles but featured a different, 3D side-scrolling gameplay (also known as 2.5D).
Warner Bros. will now be releasing the game on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. This is essentially the same game, called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition, but redone in HD for the more powerful systems and will also feature a new map, hint system and 5.1 channel surround sound. We got to spend some time with Samsung Smartphone GamePad accessory and got some pictures as well as some impressions for you guys.
The GamePad wirelessly connects to any Android device from 4″ to 6.3″ and as you can see snuggles the Galaxy Note 3 pretty comfortably. It works over Bluetooth 4.0 and you can take advantage of the built-in NFC for easy pairing. Sony has announced that it sold 5.3 million units of its PlayStation 4 console worldwide since launch. The company had previously announced that it plans to hit the 5 million mark before it reaches the end of the fiscal year, which ends in March. Needless to say, Sony blazed past its own target with more a month to spare.
What makes Sony’s sales figures even more impressive is that the PS4 is yet to launch in Japan, Sony’s home country. Previous consoles have traditionally showed strong sales in Japan and the PS4 is likely to follow suit. The number would have been even higher had the PS4 been available in Japan since the time it launched last year in the US. Read more »
Microsoft has started rolling out a new software update for the Xbox One gaming console. The update will be downloaded automatically by your console when you switch it off and it goes into a low-power state.
The latest update brings with it several additions and improvements. One of them is the ability to see and manage the storage space left on your Xbox One. Microsoft has also made it easier to manage your download queue with separate queues for My Apps and My Games. There is also a new battery power indicator for the controller that appears on the homescreen at the bottom right corner. You can now also connect a USB keyboard to your Xbox One. Read more »
Over the last few hours Rovio has released three teasers about a new Angry Birds game. The pictures are very clear – they even have the #NEWANGRYBIRDS hashtag in the corner, so it isn’t just another update.
There is no other information but the teaser pictures, which show popular birds watching something in the distance. There is the Stella logo plus the “Best Friends Forever…Most of the Time” message. Read more »
Terry Cavanagh, creator of the ridiculously difficult and addictive Super Hexagon, has created a Flash-based fan game called Maverick Bird as a tribute to Flappy Bird, which after a bout of tremendous popularity, was pulled off the stores by the developer.
Since this is the developer of Super Hexagon we are talking about here, the game features the same flashing colors and basic geometric shapes, bass-heavy EDM and a steep learning curve. In fact, this game is even more difficult than Flappy Bird, and that’s saying something. Read more »
Flappy Bird gathered insane interest over the past few days. Initially developed in 2013, Flappy Bird has become one of the most popular titles in both Android Play Store and Apple App Store, generating millions of downloads. Its creator – Dong Nguyen – even promised Windows Phone port is coming too.

Dong Nguyen, creator of the popular indie game Flappy Bird, yesterday announced that he will be permanently taking down the game from both the App Store as well as the Play Store. As promised, the game is now off both the stores for good.
The Vietnamese developer never gave a particularly convincing reason for shutting down something so lucrative, other than saying it ruined his simple life and that he cannot take it anymore. Either that or he tried playing it himself and got so frustrated he had to remove it from the store. Read more »
