Where’s My Perry? is the latest game from Disney for iOS and Android. The game is based on the previous and highly popular title Where’s My Water? but uses modified gameplay mechanics and different characters to warrant its existence as a separate game.

Where’s My Perry? stars Perry the Platypus, also known as Agent P from the Disney animated show Phineas and Ferb. Now those of you who are not six years-old would probably not recognize him but apparently he’s quite popular among the kids, which is why Disney chose to make an entire game around the character. With the release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, everyone is now looking at popular custom ROM makers CyanogenMod to provide details as to when will they be releasing an update to CyanogenMod.

If you are a Galaxy S II user, chances are that you have been running Android 4.0 for a while now. However, the current version of ICS on the Galaxy S II is Android 4.0.3, and not the latest 4.0.4 found on phones like the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S.

The guys over at SamMobile.com have come across an official Android 4.0.4 ROM for the Galaxy S II. No proper changelog is available at the moment but if you have used it on the Galaxy Nexus you’d know that 4.0.4 only brings minor improvements. Read more »

Image persistence is a problem with LCD and plasma displays where if a certain image is displayed continuously on the screen for a long time, it gets “burned in”, which means even after the contents of the screen change, you can still faintly see the previous image on top of the current contents of the screen. Unlike screen burn-in, this effect is temporary but can still be annoying.

This issue was common on plasma displays but was greatly reduced on LCDs. It seems, however, the display on the new Nexus 7 is not one of them. Read more »

Single handed typing on smartphones can often be a slow and frustrating process (unless you have something like Swype). It seems, though, that Microsoft may have a solution for this problem in the form of the new Arc Soft keyboard for Windows Phone 8 devices.

As you can see above the keyboard is curved so that all the keys are well within your thumb’s reach. In addition to that, the keyboard reduces the number of keys by assigning multiple characters to a single key. Read more »

So far we have learnt a lot about Windows 8 since Microsoft announced it last year but the one thing we did not know so far was the price. Now Windows has been historically been a fairly expensive piece of software so people were worried that Microsoft might overshoot it again this time. Thankfully, that does not seem to be the case.

Microsoft has announced on its Windows blog that those who are already running a legitimate version of Windows on their current PC, whether it is Windows 7, Vista or even XP, are eligible to a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for only $39.99. Read more »

The popular VLC media player for Windows and OS X has received another update, which brings it to version 2.0.2. Among the chief changes in this version is support for the Retina display on the new MacBook Pro. This means that the application interface will be displayed at native resolution instead of being upscaled as before.

Another important change is that VLC will no longer ask users on OS X to wait while updating the font cache. As users of this player will know, you had to wait for a lengthy loading animation as the player built the font cache after every update, but that stops with 2.0.2. Of course it will still build the font cache, just that you won’t have to stare at a dialogue box for ages. Read more »

The battle between Chinese company Proview and Apple regarding the ‘iPad’ trademark is not new but it has now finally come to an end, with both parties deciding to settle and with Apple having paid $60 million to Proview to use the iPad trademark.

This whole thing started two years ago when Proview sued Apple for purchasing the rights for the ‘iPad’ trademark through a subsidiary named IP Application Development Ltd. for £35,000. Read more »

You may have heard of or played Disney’s excellent ‘Where’s My Water?’ game on iOS and Android by now. The game involves directing water through various obstacles and makes excellent use of fluid physics. Now Disney has released another game called ‘Where’s My Perry?’ that, again, uses water but this time on all of its states.

Developer of the obscenely popular Angry Birds series of games Rovio is now set to launch a brand new game for iOS and Android devices. The game is called Amazing Alex and is set to launch this month.

If you are familiar with Rube Goldberg contraptions you already know how to play this game. The game will require you to setup objects into creating a complication contraption in order to achieve a simple goal. Of course, there is no one way to achieve the goal and you can come up with various ways to achieve the same effect. Read more »

We have already talked about the zombie shooting game from Madfinger Games called Dead Trigger in the past. Now the game has finally been released and is available on iOS for $0.99. It’s a universal app, which means you will be able to buy it once and play it on your iPhone as well as your iPad.

Most of us who created our YouTube accounts all those years ago have some embarrassing words followed by random numbers as our usernames. Unfortunately, as is often the case with usernames, there was no way to change this. That is, until now.

Back in March, Google introduced the option to use your existing Google+ profile name as your YouTube ID to those who created a new YouTube account. But now they are bringing that option to existing users as well. Read more »

Google has a traditionally been incorporating an Easter egg inside every version of Android, that can be viewed by repeatedly tapping the Android version number within the Settings app. In Ice Cream Sandwich, you could find the Android Ice Cream Sandwich logo and if you touch and hold it, it would expand and eventually you’d see a Nyan Cat style animation of the logo.

In Android 4.1, you see a Jelly Bean with the tell-tale Android antennae on the top and if you press and hold the image, a large number of cel-shaded jelly beans appear on the screen and you can flick them around as much as you like. The Google Play Store website already offered a super convenient way to just push apps to your device but now Google has taken it a couple of steps further.

Google has updated the ‘My Android Apps’, which until now only displayed some of the apps that you have downloaded on your device, to include the option to remotely update apps as well as uninstall them. Read more »

The Google Maps app isn’t the only one getting a major update today. Google has also released updates for the YouTube and Google+ apps on Android that bring some slick new interface design to both the apps.
