Nokia N8 feeds video to the largest cinema screen in the world

What do you need for a home theater system? Usually you get a media player, a good sound system and a big TV or maybe a projector/screen combo. The Nokia N8 can substitute the media player as it can playback Full HD with true 5.1 channel Dolby Digital Plus over its HDMI output.

Samsung and US carrier MetroPCS launch first 4G LTE enabled phone – the Samsung Craft

Nokia 5230 gets overclocked to 800MHz, makes Ovi Maps load much faster

The Nokia 5230 (a.k.a. Nuron in the US) is one of the cheapest ways to get a full-blown SatNav system. It’s got a GPS, free voice-guided navigation with offline maps (that is you don’t need an Internet connection as you go) and you can buy it for about 120 euro (160 USD).

However that 434MHz CPU it’s got under its bonnet, sure takes its time to launch Ovi Maps. But if you overclock it to, say, 800MHz that will make it faster – and someone already made it happen… Read more »

With ever increasing wireless Internet speeds, mobile TV has been watched primarily via the web. But Nokia isn’t ready to give up on handheld TV broadcast the regular way, so they’re launching the Mobile TV Headset, which imbues your compatible Symbian^3 handset with DVB-H reception powers…

The Nokia Mobile TV Headset will be sold separately. It plugs into the USB port (the handset needs USB-on-the-go (USB OTG) functionality for the trick to work) and it also functions as a regular handset for calling and listening to music with keys that can change channels and songs.

Samsung plans to sell 10 million Galaxy Tabs, Vodafone and O2 talk launch plans

The Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab is barely out the door but Samsung is already making plans to sell 10 million units. These are long term plans of course – even the iPad hasn’t sold that well (yet).

Samsung won’t be selling the Galaxy Tab directly, but carriers are already going into high gear – Vodafone UK has a pre-order page, O2 has plans to launch the Tab too. The price? Well, prices aren’t finalized yet but it should go for Dell Streak kind of prices in the US… Read more »
