We’ve been expecting this one for a long time. And it’s finally here. The Motorola Atrix has come to our office and we’re eagerly working on a full review.
The Moto Atrix means business with its dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB worth of RAM and qHD (540×960) resolution. It’s a flagship by any standards and we’ll be testing whether it’s up to the task of competing with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S II and LG Optimus 2X.
We actually have the Atrix 4G variety – that’s the model for the US market but there are no important differences between the two models – except perhaps the supported 3G bands.

Adobe is releasing a touch SDK for developers and three apps for the iPad, which aim at turning the tablet into a capable Photoshop companion – something along the way of Wacom’s pen tablets. With the new apps you can finger-paint, color-mix, tool-shift and export to the full-featured PC version.
The touch SDK aims at giving developers the tools to create Photoshop apps for iOS, Android and BlackBerry. This way basically every tablet-maker (save for HP, for now) will be able to take advantage and use its tablets for professional Photoshop work. Read more »
Skype version 5.3 (for PC) is out and you can download it right away. It brings some bug fixes and a minor UI facelift, but most importantly improved video-calling to mobile devices, such as iOS and Android, among others.
Skype developers have shifted the weight of video-calling from the mobile devices to the PC, and as it does the heavier lifting, your mobile phone can send better quality video. This should create an overall smoother experience of PC-to-mobile video calls. Read more »

It seems that BlackBerry is finally launching its tablet to the market on 14 April. The BlackBerry Playbook will be showcased at an invite-only event in New York.

It seems like over a year already, since the Galaxy Tab hit the shelves. Well, actually it’s been 6 months, which is a long time in gadget terms. Now the Galaxy Tab has been confirmed to hit the US market in its Wi-Fi-only version, from 349.99 bucks. It will be available on 10 April.
This reincarnation of Samsung’s proto tablet has gained some extra RAM – 592MB, but lost the GPS functionality, the HSDPA connectivity, the 32GB and 64GB storage options and some 2000 mAh worth of battery. It’s now down to just 4000, instead of the 6000 the original had. And the available built-in memory is 16GB. But you can always expand it up to 32GB with a SD card. It’s also stuck at Android Froyo 2.2, which certainly is not the latest tablet UI available. Read more »

The Google Maps application for Android has just been updated to version 5.3. It now brings some previously computer-exclusive stuff like location history – or in other words, where you’ve been to and how much time you’ve spent there.
The Google Maps app is no longer just a digital map of the world. It’s now a mapping service – slash – SatNav app with the ability to check you in at home, work and all sorts of places. And it even lets you give reviews to places, add specific things you like about a place. And all this is posted to the virtual profile of the place for everyone (using Google Places) to see.
