Long story short. Facebook is building something secretly from its employees and only the high-level management is familiar with the project. The secret project is about software development and Joe Hewitt and Matthew Papakipos are working on it. Hewitt previously created the Facebook iPhone app and the Facebook iPhone website plus the popular Firefox extension Firebug. He’s also worked in Netscape during the creation of Firefox. Papakipos on the other side is a former member of the Chrome OS team (HTML5 was his specialty) plus he’s been involved in some hardware projects.

Nikon just churned out the full specs of their next prosumer DSLR – the Nikon D7000. After we saw that teaser press shot yesterday, now we have the real deal.
The most interesting turn of events here is that the new D7000 actually occupies a new position in the Nikon DSLR portfolio. It’s placed between the current D90 and D300s models and as you would see it’s got better specs than both. Design-wise however it’s much the same as the D90 for what it’s worth. It’s almost the same size and weight as the D90 and Nikon D7000 engineers have obviously used the D90 body as a starting point for their product chassis.

Now who saw that one coming? When Nokia announced the C6-01, C7 and E7 everyone was so excited about their HD-capable 8 megapixel shooters that the fact that they lack of autofocus somehow slipped away even from our usual scrutiny.
Bummer! Photography might not be all about macro shots but still a good percentage of all shots are from distances shorter than 1 meter. And as it turns out the C7 will be unable to deliver in those cases. The E7 and C6-01 are quoted to have 50 cm as its closest focus distance but it still doesn’t come anywhere near true autofocus.
