Angry Birds Season has been updated to match the just started summer (the astronomical season). The new Summer Pignic update works the same way as the Christmas one – as each day passes, we’ll get a new level to tackle.

Update: EA has pulled down the download links for the patch. It will now be made available on Monday, June 27.

So it’s like this. Crysis 2 for PC was supposed to come with DirectX 11 graphics but upon launch it was discovered that the game actually runs on DirectX 9, not even 10. EA had promised an update soon but it started to look like they didn’t care any more. Of course we all know why that is. They have to sell the console version of the game as well and you can’t have the PC version looking a lot better.

But it seems now EA has finally got around to releasing that DirectX 11 patch that they promised long ago. Exactly three months after the game released. And by now anyone who ever wanted to play the game is already done playing it.

Just as promised, today Mozilla released the next version of their widely popular Firefox browser. Firefox 5.0 has been available for download through the company FTP servers for a couple of days now, but now that it’s officially finalized you can get if straight from the Mozilla website or the Android Market.

According to the developers Firefox 5.0 brings over 1,000 improvements and performance enhancements compared to its predecessor. That is no mean feat considering that its development only took three months. Read more »

The Nokia N9 announcement was understandably greeted with quite a lot of excitement, but it appears that one of the features of the smartphone didn’t get the attention it deserves. From the official photos it appears that the N9 packs a front-facing camera at the most unusual of places – the bottom right corner of the front panel.

Yet the official specifications on the Nokia developers website fail to mention a front-facing camera. What’s even more confusing is that none of the few dozens of previews that were published today mentions it. This could of course be explained with the relatively little importance of the feature, but still someone should have said something about it. Read more »

The Nokia N9 was only announced this morning, but previews have already began to appear online. The MeeGo smartphone has been absolutely loved by everyone who got a chance to try it and it appears that it will be worth its flagship position.

The Nokia N9 polycarbonate unibody is looking pretty hot as you can see from the photos and the performance seems good worthy of a flagship device too. Plus, the 3.9″ AMOLED of FWVGA resolution is reportedly looking as impressive as it gets. Read more »

Yesterday ICANN decided to allow custom domain suffixes. Right now companies have to settle for .com or .org or one of the 20 others standard suffixes or use country-specific ones. Starting 2012 they can create custom suffixes – if they’re willing to pay for it.

It’s pricy but I’m sure sites ending in .google or .apple are not very far off. It would allow companies to offer very memorable URLs for their important products – think mail.google for Gmail (instead of the current mail.google.com) or iphone.apple (instead of www.apple.com/iphone). Read more »

Another Android tablet was just thrown our way by Huawei. The Chinese company unveiled the 7″ MediaPad, which will be the first slate to run on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb, which is supposed to be the edition of the Google OS best suited to smaller-screen slates.

On the hardware side of the things the Huawei MediaPad 7″ sounds pretty attractive too with its 7″ IPS LCD capacitive display and 10.5mm slim waistline. The 390 grams of weight actually make the MediaPad a pretty portable device, while the Snapdragon chipset featuring a couple of Scorpion cores running at 1.2GHz should give you all the processing power you need. Some of us like to play a video game when we have some free time. There are others, however, who create video games in their free times. Then there are some, who like to go a step ahead and play their games on paper that is constantly being pushed out by a receipt printer and a projector.

Another popular iOS app has found its way on the Android Market. Crackle – Movies & TV is an app that lets you watch Hollywood movies and TV shows for free on your mobile phone over a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. The app itself is free as well. Last month we talked about the Firefox 5 beta and the new faster update cycle that Mozilla has adopted to keep up with the new kid on the block, Google Chrome. Now the final version of Firefox 5 is available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

With Firefox 5, you get support for CSS animations and improved performance over Firefox 4. The browser is yet to be launched officially though, which will happen on June 21. However, you can still head to Mozilla’s FTP servers and download the version appropriate for your computer’s operating system. Read more »
