Samsung Galaxy Tab A is the newest mid-range lineup of slates, which should replace the Galaxy Tab 4 series soon. The Galaxy Tab A 8 and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 tablets went official last month in Russia with attractive designs and mid-range specs.

Both Galaxy A Tabs feature similar specs – 8 or 9.7″ 4:3 screens of 1024 x 768px, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor (courtesy of Snapdragon 400 or Snapdragon 410 chips), 2 gigs of RAM (1.5GB for the Wi-Fi model), 16GB expandable storage, 5MP cams and Android Lollipop OS. Google is always looking for ways to boost the usage of its products among consumers globally. For that, the company is in talks with Hutchinson Whampoa to work on a deal that will eliminate the international roaming costs for Android phones.

Google wishes to disrupt the US mobile market with its own network and deals with other networks to offer better, affordable options for the Android phone users. The idea is to have a uniform rate for calls, texts, and mobile data irrespective of the region. Read more »

According to a new report, the soon to be revealed, next generation Apple TV will lack support for 4K video streaming. The successor of the currently available TV console is expected to debut in June this year.

Voting time is over and the results are in, indicating that the HTC One M9 receives your stamp of approval. It doesn’t bathe in fan love quite like the Samsung Galaxy S6 last week, but still manages a positive score on all counts.

Just over a week after WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton revealed that the voice calling feature will be made available to iOS users soon, the company’s support department has confirmed that efforts are underway to bring the feature to Windows Phone also.

“WhatsApp Calling for your platform [Windows Phone] is still in the works,” the company confirmed in an email, although it refused to comment on any release timelines at the moment. Read more »

Looks like HTC is developing its own answer to Android Auto. According to a Reddit poster, the Taiwanese company is working on a device, codename Cello, that is far more capable than Google’s in-car system. The user also posted what appears to be an HTC Release Note (see below).

The device is said to be powered by Android 4.4 and runs a special version of HTC’s Sense UI, dubbed Sense Automotive, which is specifically made for cars. The features it offers include: Night Vision, Sonar, Mini HMI (Human Machine Interface), DVD, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Lane Departure Warning System, Navigation, and GPS. Read more »

Both Galaxy S6 and S6 edge utilize Quad HD Super AMOLED screens and are powered by identical Exynos 7420 chips. The battery capacity of the S6 edge is just a whisker larger than the power unit inside the regular S6 model, but we are unsure if that’s enough to make a difference. Read more »

Back in 2012, Microsoft became the first major company to enable the Do Not Track (DNT) feature by default in its web browser, but the software giant has now said that it will change the way the feature is implemented in future versions of its browsers. This effectively means that the company’s upcoming Project Spartan browser won’t have it enabled by default.

As per the Redmond, Washington-based company, the decision was taken to comply with the latest industry standard, which says that a tracking preference expression is only transmitted when it reflects a deliberate choice by the user. Read more »

According to a report in 9to5Mac, come April 10, Apple will have Watch-themed front displays for its retail stores. The Cupertino giant’s upcoming smartwatch will be available to try in-store and pre-order on the aforementioned date.

We have grown pretty accustomed to hearing about the never-ending ping-pong of court cases between Samsung and Apple. It almost seems like their legal departments are in an all-out feud over every single patent and device that sees the light of day. But in an odd twist of fate, the two antagonistic tech giants might stand united in defending against patents they are both accused of infringing.

The common enemy in this odd case is a company by the name of Smartflash and the patents in question have to do with mechanism for controlling access to digital data through payment systems. Apple was targeted by the company for overstepping a subset of these very patents in iTunes and was ordered by court in February to pay $533 million in dues to the small US company. Read more »

The good folks over at www.ifixit.com have finally managed to get to HTC’s latest flagship device. And, as tradition goes, the unit has to suffer, so a lot of others like it can be saved from the electronics graveyard.

Judging by continuity in the design of the One series, it is only natural to assume that the One M9 shares much of the same assembly and mounting techniques as its predecessor, which is notoriously difficult to mend, mostly due to an abundance on tricky adhesive holding things in place. Apple’s debut on the smart wearable market – the Apple Watch is finally inching closer to its release. Initial preorders begin on April 10 and the first units will start shipping on April 24. With the release date so close, a lot of eager Apple fans can’t wait to get their hands on the new wearable.
