A couple of weeks back, we gave you a hands on of the new Windows Phone-powered Nokia flagship, the Lumia 920 for AT&T. Back then however the phone was delivered to one of our US offices and not to our HQ, so we were unable to do a proper review complete with all our trademark tests. And since we felt that a smartphone of this stature deserved better, we decided to wait until we receive the international version. The waiting is finally over, though and we’ll now do our best to give you the review as quickly as possible.

Angry Birds Star Wars has just got its first update – the planet Hoth. It adds 20 new Hoth-themed levels, new pink (Leia) bird, bonus levels and AT-ATs.

The update is free and is available as of today on iOS and will land any moment in the Play Store too. Updates for the other platforms should follow very soon too. Read more »

The Nokia Lumia 920 features optical image stabilization (OIS) for its 8MP camera and while Nokia dropped the ball when it was discovered its promo video was not shot with the 920 at all, fans took it on themselves to reshoot the sample. But riding a bike is too mellow, driving a four by four through the desert puts lot more stress on the OIS and is much cooler too.

Early adopters of Windows Phone 8 devices have been complaining about their devices randomly rebooting repeatedly. Fortunately, a fix is on the way.

When Nokia released its TV spot showing off the image stabilization of the Lumia 920, it got into a bit of trouble because it turned out the video wasn’t shot on a Lumia 920 at all.

With the Nokia Lumia 820 exclusive to AT&T in the United States, the Finnish manufacturer had to resort to rebranding tactics in order to put its mid-range Windows Phone 8 offering on other carrier’s shelves. The Nokia Lumia 810 for T-Mobile is one such product – the stealthy looking handset is essentially a clone of the Lumia 820 with some minor tweaks thrown in.

Like its 920 and 820 siblings, the Nokia Lumia 810 packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset and a gig of RAM. Read more »

The Nokia Lumia 820 is our first brush with the Finnish company’s next generation of Windows Phone handsets. It has a relatively small battery (1650mAh), smaller than even HTC’s Windows Phone 8X juice pack. And that one certainly didn’t impress us much with its battery life.

The Lumia 820 has a dual-core Krait processor running at 1.5GHz inside (like most other WP8 phones) so we don’t expect this to make any difference, but that 4.3” AMOLED screen probably will. Read more »

Nokia has updated its Nokia Transport (known as Transit in North America) for Windows Phone 8 with a revamped interface. The company is also working on apps for Windows Phone 7 and even Symbian, but those are in beta right now.

The Nokia Lumia 820 stopped by for a quick visit and the first thing we did was put it in front of our camera. The phone is the second Windows Phone 8 handset from Nokia and it differs from the 920 flagship in several areas.

Windows Phone 8 devices are already out there battling the droid gang for a piece of the smartphone market. But some of the early Windows Phone adopters don’t plan to abandon their WP7 devices just yet.

It’s been one and a half year since Microsoft acquired Skype and we are finally starting to see the fruits of the acquisition. After releasing the new Skype client for Windows 8, Microsoft has released a new Skype Preview for Windows Phone 8 devices.

This new version brings some much needed features over the Windows Phone 7 version. The biggest feature is that Skype can now run in the background and always stay on, just like the new Windows 8 app. This allows you to get messages like any other instant messaging service and calls come in like regular phone calls.
