It just seems like yesterday when we were looking at its leaked press images (then again, it probably was). Now the next generation Nexus 7 tablet, which still hasn’t been formally announced, is already up for pre-order.
As you can see from the image above, Best Buy has decided to jump the gun and put up the tablet for pre-order even before Google officially announces it. As we had heard before, there are two models in 16GB and 32GB capacities respectively. Oddly missing is a 3G model, for now at least, but since we definitely saw a SIM slot on one of the press images we can only assume it would be arriving later. Read more »
Google’s next generation Nexus 7 tablet has been steadily leaking for the past few weeks. First we saw some leaked specifications, followed by some press images. Now, some hands-on images and even a video of the device have surfaced on the internet.

The highly anticipated second generation of the Google Nexus 7 made a couple of unofficial appearances. The upcoming ASUS-made slate showed up in a press photo, as well as a BestBuy print catalogue.
Both alleged images of the upcoming Nexus 7 fall right in line with previousleaks. The BestBuy ad points at a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It also confirms the $229 price tag for the 16GB version of the slate. Read more »
The alleged images of next-generation affordable tablet from Google have already been leaked and we even saw a video of the upcoming Nexus 7. Now, the specifications of the second-gen of the slate have been revealed in a new leak.
As expected, the second-generation Nexus 7 will sport a 7-inch FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and will feature a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. It’s clear by now to everyone that the Surface RT has been a failure. Hot on the heels of the pricing details from yesterday, the second generation Nexus 7 made yet another appearance. This time around the highly anticipated tablet allegedly showed up in photos and video footage.
The images unsurprisingly reveal an ASUS-made tablet with a 7″ LCD display and a duo of cameras which include a 1.2MP and a 5MP unit, located on its front and back respectively. The listed SoC of the leaked device is reportedly a Qualcomm’s APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro – right in line with past reports. Read more »

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 launched with Android 4.1 instead of 4.2 like the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 did, but if you want you can flash a leaked version of the official 4.2.2 update. While the update is not rich with new features it reportedly makes the tablet smoother and improves battery life.
The bigger Note 10.1 (which launched with ICS) is still on Android 4.1, so the newer tablet will actually get ahead. Read more »
The Surface RT tablet, which was announced last year, met with lukewarm response from customers and reviewers alike. Burdened with a fairly outdated processor and an OS with few apps, not to mention priced the same as the iPad which has neither of those issues, the Surface RT was never going to set the sales charts on fire.
Microsoft seems to have realized their mistake and intend to solve at least one of those problems, by dropping the price by a cool $150 across the board. The base 32GB Surface RT now costs $349.99 whereas the 64GB model costs $449.99. If you want to get the Touch Keyboard, you’ll have to add $100 to these prices. Read more »
Samsung integrated its Bada OS into the Tizen OS project earlier this year and we even saw few screenshots of the brand new mobile operating system that was developed by the global market leaders. Microsoft has released a new ad to promote its Windows 8 tablets. The latest ad, which goes by the name “Baseball”, talks up the multi-tasking abilities of a Windows 8 tablet by comparing them against those of the Apple’s iPad.

What we may be seeing here is Nokia’s rumored Windows tablet, which has been doing the rounds in Rumorland for quite a long time now, but is yet to be officially confirmed.
The slate runs Windows RT nd not the full-blown Windows 8. However sources, allegedly close to the situation at Espoo, claim that Nokia may have given up on the RT version (pictured here) and will move its focus to delivering a slate with the full Windows experience. Read more »
