The first LG Optimus 4X HD video ad is out

The LG Optimus 4X HD is expected next month but LG has already revealed its first promo video. The Optimus 4X HD is LG’s first quad-corer smartphone (it uses a Tegra 3 chipset with 1GB of RAM). We first met the device back the the MWC 2012.

Apple fight back in Siri lawsuit

The case against Apple, which was filed back in March, claims that the company misled people in regards to the quality of the Siri voice recognition software on the iPhone 4S.

Panasonic Eluga V P-06D headed to NTT DoCoMo, with Android ICS and 13.2MP camera in tow

Panasonic continues to expand its Eluga line of droids. The latest addition goes by the name Panasonic Eluga V P-06D, which is on its way to Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. It sits between the Eluga DL1 (or P-04D as is its NTT DoCoMo name) and the Eluga Power.

The Eluga V packs a 4.6″ LCD screen with 720p resolution and it’s dust and water resistant, just like its smaller counterpart, though it’s no longer as amazingly thin – its profile measures 10.7mm. Read more »

Which virtual personal assistant is best for you? Siri vs. S Voice vs. Speaktoit Assistant

Traditionally, personal assistants are for the wealthy with their lack of time for trivial chores. But with the introduction of Siri on the iPhone 4S everyone could suddenly have a personal butler to boss around. Shortly afterwards, a plethora of Android variations followed, giving users choice as wide as the Moon.

The latest one of the bunch is called S Voice. It is a love child of Samsung’s hate towards Apple and desire to pack as many features as possible in the Galaxy S III. Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III battery life test concludes, results come out promising

We’re done testing the battery endurance of the new Samsung flagship and we are ready to share the results with you. The I9300 Galaxy S III has a huge 2100 mAh battery, but its 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED still causes concern.

It was also interesting to see how the new-generation Exynos 4212 Quad chipset fared. It has no companion core to handle less demanding tasks, but all of its four Cortex-A9 cores are built on a 32nm process, so they should be pretty efficient. Read more »

HTC One X for AT&T stopped by for a review, here goes the hands-on

In order to get along with AT&T’s LTE network the HTC One X has lost two CPU cores, compared to its global sibling. Naturally, we were curious to find out if a change of personality has resulted from this fact.

Lumia 900 display beats Galaxy S and iPhone 4 displays in visibility tests

AMOLED displays, although beautiful to look at, have had issues performing under bright sunlight. The first phones to use AMOLED displays were barely usable outdoors. Eventually the technology improved, specifically when Samsung introduced their Super AMOLED displays, which had significantly better outdoor visibility, and these days AMOLED displays are even outperforming LCDs when it comes to visibility under sunlight.

One such AMOLED display belongs to the Nokia Lumia 900, which despite its AMOLED nature performed very well under bright light, thanks to Nokia’s Clear Black Display technology, in a comparison test performed by DisplayMate. Read more »

Virgin Mobile pushes EVO V 4G, Boost Mobile launches EVO Design 4G

Both Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile launched their own versions of Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D. They are both contract-free, and come with tempting, affordable 4G plans.

The EVO V 4G and EVO Design 4G are the same as the original HTC EVO 3D for Sprint, but have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 3.6 pre-installed, along with a bundled 8GB microSD card. Read more »
