Xbox 360 Kinect comes on 4 November, a bargain bundle with the new Xbox 360 Slim Arcade also available

Kinect’s price and launch day are now officially out the door. Microsoft will release the Xbox 360 motion controller on November 4 for a price of 150 US dollars (with a Kinect Adventure game pack). Ouch, that’s kinda steep! But no surprise there, we knew that all along.

The information on a new Xbox 360 Arcade that leaked a week ago, turned out to be true. There is a new Arcade version of the new slim Xbox 360, and it will be also available with a Kinect bundle “in time for the holidays”.

RIM finally introduces GPS-free location service for BlackBerries

It’s been a few years since most of the major manufacturers started using the cell tower triangulation as a quick fix for the slow initial GPS position locking. Today even some cheap feature-phones use the cell-based location service, but still there is no BlackBerry handset capable doing this.

Well, that’s no more. RIM has finally added cell positioning to their Location Services and it’s ready to be used for all developers in their future or already released applications.

YouTube is ready for the big screen, now supports 4K ultra high-res videos

It seems YouTube always thinks big and the result is the new support for 4K videos – 4096×2304 resolution.

Man, that’s some serious resolution. As the official YouTube blog states, to see such a movie in its full glory you’ll need a 25 feet (7.62 meters) screen. As a comparison IMAX is projected through 2K resolution projectors and the standard IMAX screen is 22×16.1 meters.

LG updates its application store, now available in 23 countries

Last year LG launched their own application store starting with 1400 titles. Initially it was available only in Australia and Singapore.

Today LG unveiled its new version and made it available in 21 more countries. The LG Applications store is currently offering more than 1800 apps, 1000 wallpapers and 200 ringtones.
