The Do Not Disturb mode introduced with Apple’s latest iOS 6 appears to have a serious bug. Since the turn of the year, it stopped functioning as promised and prevented quite a lot of people from getting their calls and messages.

The DND feature allows you to set a period of time when your iPhone will stop alerting you of incoming calls, messages and notifications. It doesn’t affects the alarms though. Read more »

Installous is no more, iOS users to find jailbreak apps elsewhere

I wish I didn’t have to start the New Year with bad news, but some iOS users will be left really disappointed after this. The iOS repository for jailbreak apps has shut down.

It was the place where most of the non Apple-approved iOS apps (but also lots of pirated apps) come from. The official reason for the shutdown, according the Hackulous team, is the stagnating forum, but to be honest that sounds hard to believe. Read more »

Gradiente unveils Android-powered iphone in Brazil, Apple lawyers grin

The Brazilian company Gradiente is offering an Android-based smartphone called iphone Neo One. The gadget has nothing to do with Apple, iOS and the genuine iPhone lineup.

Gradiente’s iphone features a 3.7-inch HVGA display, a 700MHz processor, a 5MP snapper, dual-SIM capabilities, 3G, Wi-Fi and a microSD card slot. The phone runs on the dated Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Read more »

Angry Birds Space and Star Wars coming to Windows Phone 7.5, original Angry Birds gets a birthday update

Rovio has just announced its latest Angry Birds installments will be released for the older generation Windows Phone devices. Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars will be hitting the WP7 Store any moment now. Meanwhile, the original Angry Birds title will be getting an update to celebrate its third birthday.

Both games will be compatible with all Windows Phone 7.5 or later running smartphones, no matter their specs. Rovio says Nokia helped bring the games to those that only have 256 MB of RAM. Read more »

BlackBerry Messenger 7.0 beta testing is over, final version now available

RIM has just released the new BlackBerry Messenger 7.0 into the BlackBerry App World. Its key selling point is the free Wi-Fi calling, which lets you do calls to all other BBM 7.0 users for free.

Other new stuff coming up with the BBM 7.0 is the synchronization with your BlackBerry ID profile, 16 new emote icons and notifications when new version becomes available. Read more »

Whatsapp for WP8 coming soon, Dropbox for Windows RT submitted for approval

The Whatsapp team says the Whatsapp app for Windows Phone 8 will go live very soon in the Store. It will be six times faster than before and later on it will get another update with new emoji set.
