ZTE announces the 8-inch V81 slate with a 4:3 display

ZTE has unveiled the V81 slate featuring an 8-inch 4:3 display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, which is ready to take on the Apple’s iPad mini and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0.

The ZTE V81 is powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz processor and comes with 1GB RAM. Read more »

YouTube Capture for iOS gets 1080p video uploads and social sharing options

Google’s YouTube Capture for iOS got an update today, which brings the oft-requested 1080p video uploads. Until now YouTube Capture was limiting the uploads to 720p resolution.

Nokia updates its maps – supports more countries and roads

Nokia has updated the map data, which is used on its navigation apps – such as Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive for Windows Phone, as well as the here.com web service.

The update includes three new regions, more detailed coverage in some of the previously supported areas as well as new or amended roads in various countries worldwide. Read more »

It seems yesterday’s photos of the Galaxy Note 8.0 are the real deal. A newly leaked image shows the slate with its emblematic S-Pen standing alongside its Note II sibling.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 is expected to be announced at the MWC next month in Barcelona and will be powered by the same hardware as the Galaxy Note 10.1. Read more »

Nokia Lumia 510 battery test is over, here are the results

Now that our review of the Nokia Lumia 510 is over, we are ready to share the details on the smartphone’s battery test. It’s the first smartphone to run on Windows Phone 7.8 and is probably the one with least powerful hardware, so we were interested how it would do.

The Lumia 510 shares many specs with the Lumia 610 we met with last summer, but comes with a 0.3-inch bigger display (that’s a more space to light up) and 4GB less of storage. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 photos leak ahead of the official announcement

The Galaxy Note 8.0 slate was already confirmed by JK Shin – the head of Samsung Mobile Communications. The official announcement is expected to happen at MWC 2013 next month in Barcelona.

We already know the specs of the device – it will be powered by the same quad-core platforms as the Note 10.1, but will come with an 8.0″ display of 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Now we also got to see the first real world images of the tablet. Read more »

Windows Phone 7.8 SDK is now available, the update shouldn’t take long

Microsoft has released the Windows Phone SDK update for Windows Phone 7.8. It brings two new emulator images with WP7.8 running on a 512MB device and WP7.8 running on a 256MB RAM smartphone.

More importantly, the launch of the 7.8 SDK, suggests that the update itself is going to start seeding to users around the global very soon. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE headed to Verizon this month

Samsung has just issued a press-release announcing the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet will be landing on Verizon’s network this month.

The iOS 6 Do Not Disturb feature fixes itself [UPDATE: Still not working]

The iOS 6 DND feature is working again, just as Apple promised a few days ago. There was no update, though – the Do Not Disturb mode just fixed itself.

UPDATE: As it turned out, despite the DND mode now turns on and off as scheduled, it doesn’t work and you will continue to receive all notifications. Now Apple need to release an update and the next time should do more tests before coming up with an official statement. Read more »

Apple promises to fix Do Not Disturb feature by January 7

The iOS 6 Do Not Disturb mode stopped working properly at the turn of the year. The same day Apple decided to launch a new iPhone 5 ad focused exactly on the cool DND service.
