Nokia has released three new videos advertising its HERE products. They all feature HERE’s employee Alex Osaki and made in the style of the James Bond movies.
Nokia will soon become a service-focused company after selling its device business to Microsoft next year. HERE is one of Nokia’s key weapons on Windows Phone and one of the features that keep the mobile OS alive and attractive to users. Microsoft launched the free Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 updates just four days ago. Lots of Windows 8 users are probably already running on the latest version of the OS, while many of you owning Windows RT-powered slate still can’t download the update.

The slo-mo videos has been kind of a big deal about the iPhone 5s since Apple announced the fella in September. The iPhone 5s indeed outputs 720p videos at 120 fps, but does it record them in 720p resolution as well? As it turns out – it does not.
A reader of ours tipped us the Apple iPhone 5s doesn’t actually capture proper 720p footage when you enable slow-motion recording and since we had already noticed that those videos have less captured detail than expected, we though a more detailed investigation was in order. Microsoft is releasing its Windows 8.1 OS today. It will be available as a free update to existing Windows 8 users and will also come pre-installed on new Windows 8 PCs sold after tomorrow. The stand-alone retail version also launches on October 18.
Windows 8.1, previously known as Blue, will bring back the Start button, make the Start screen optional (boot to Desktop), will offer more customization options, new spit screen mode, IE 11, better SkyDrive integration, new apps, new connectivity options and lots of other improvements. Read more »
The PR Scandinavian agency M&C Saatchi created a very clever ad campaign for LG that bashed the G2 competitors through banners on websites they visit.
If you browse a website serving the latest LG G2 ad campaign on your Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One or Apple iPhone 5s, you will be getting device-specific banners. LG Mobile announced today the UK availability for the G Pad 8.3. The slate will be offered exclusively via the IT distributor Micro P and will be released at the end of October for £259.99.

BlackBerry’s CMO Frank Boulben has confirmed the BBM messenger for Android and iOS will be released “within days”. The client has been teased a lot in the past few months with the promise the released date is getting closer. We even saw a beta version makes it to the Apple’s AppStore, but it was quickly taken down.

The Google Maps app on Android OS has got a pretty decent update. It includes new notifications that now utilize the expandable interface. Now you can see your next turn, estimated time of arrival, and remaining distance to destination without having to open the app itself.

Officially iTunes Radio music streaming service is available only in the US. This is not exactly true though, as it is actually available for US iTunes accounts, but is not limited by the US borders. You can actually create a free US iTunes account and listen iTunes Radio anywhere in the world.
