Angry Birds latest update brings new 15 new levels with new gameplay

The latest episode of the original Angry Birds title is called Red’s Mighty Feathers and brings 15 new levels. Those feature new gameplay where you have to defend eggs from all the pigs trying to steal it.

There is a new red bird with special power for this episode. The three-star system has changed too, now you should meet some requirements for each star. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is now rooted, tool available online

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has been around for almost two weeks now, so it was about time someone came up with a root solution for it. Fortunately, the hacker was kind enough to share his work with the rest of us, so now everyone can get superuser privileges on their IP-certified flagship.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is arguably the most interesting of the latest generation Samsung slates. It’s an affordable dual-core tablet running on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and the 1280 x 800 pixel resolution isn’t as big an issue as it is on the 10″ screen of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz is on top, of course, full of useful apps and services.

The SamsungGalaxy Tab 3 8.0 is a thinner, lighter and S-Pen-less version of the Galaxy Note 8.0. It’s cheaper too, so you may be willing to forgive the less capable chipset. Read more »

U-Turn: BlackBerry PlayBook won’t get BlackBerry 10 update

Today is certainly not a good day for the BlackBerry fans. Earlier CEO Thorsten Heins reported disappointing earnings results for the last quarter. The company did manage to increase its revenue, but it didn’t meet profit expectations, in fact its operating loss is $84 million. Because of the bad financial report the company’s stock tumbled down over 25% at time of writing.

During the financial results conference call BlackBerry delivered another portion of bad news – there will not be BlackBerry 10 update for the PlayBook slates. Read more »

New Nokia Asha promo video focuses on Fastlane

Nokia Asha 501 is the first phone running on the new Nokia Asha software platform and it has just got its proper market release.

The major overhaul of the Asha platform focuses around the so-called Fastlane, which is why the latest promo video revolves around it. The Fastlane keeps track of all your recent activity, opened apps go there, along with contacts you’ve called, calendar events (birthdays, to-dos) and social network posts. Read more »

Google Earth on Android and iOS updated, gets Street View

Google has updated its Google Earth apps for Android and iOS. The new 7.1.1 version brings a few major improvements including Street View.

The rest of the improvements in the new Google Earth include a new left hand panel for easier browsing and switching between layers. There is also updated directions and search results. Read more »

Latest Nokia Lumia 925 ad shows an iPhone 5 turning people into flash zombies

The recently released Nokia Lumia 925, which is basically a Lumia 920 in a new thinner and lighter shell, but also a supposedly improved camera lens. The last bit is probably why Nokia chose to focus on the imaging capabilities of its new flagship in its latest ad video.

Huawei Ascend Mate battery test is over, see the results inside

We’ve already published our Huawei Ascend Mate review and as usual we made the device jump though our battery test hoops. The Ascend Mate is powered by a huge 4050 mAh Li-Ion battery and we expected nothing less than spectacular results.

Huawei Ascend Mate is running on a quad-core chipset with a 1.5GHz Cortex A9 processor and a 16-core graphics. The screen is 6.1″ big, so we can safely say the Ascend Mate is a power-hungry device. Read more »

We give iOS 7 beta a try on an iPhone 5, the video is inside

Apple released the first iOS 7 beta yesterday and we just couldn’t keep our hands off it. We just couldn’t wait until the fall to give the latest version of the Apple platform a try. We’ve installed the new iOS on an iPhone 5 and we’ve restored it from an iCloud backup. Everything has gone smooth so we are now able to share our first impressions with you.

The new iOS 7 brings a brand new look, new icons and skins, new control center with toggles and updated notification center, new weather app, Safari browser, Photos and Music player, Camera app and much more. Read more »

Huawei Ascend Mate arrives at HQ, poses for our camera

Huawei Ascend Mate has just made it to out office. It’s the company’s largest smartphone up to date with a 6.1-inch IPS+ 720p display. The Mate is powered by Huawei’s home-brewed K3V2 chip, which has a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 16-core graphics and 2GB of RAM.

The Ascend Mate runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS skinned with Huawei’s own Emotion UI. The entire skin reminds us a lot of the Meizu MX phones, since it lacks an app drawer and everything goes on your homescreens. Read more »

Apple has sold 100 million iPod Touch players over the last six years

Today Apple unveiled the new affordable 16GB version of the iPod Touch 5 that loses the rear camera and the eyelet. The day also marked a huge milestone for the company – 100 million iPod Touch sold since the first model hit the shelves way back in 2007.

The iPod Touch was an offspring of the iPhone that tried to capitalize on the hype the first iPhone created. It hasn’t quite been able to achieve the iconic status of the original iPod but its sales are still going pretty decently. Read more »

HTC apologizes for all delayed HTC One orders with $25 Google Play credit

HTC might be having some trouble lately, but that doesn’t stop it from caring for the early HTC One adopters. The first batch of the flagship suffered delays due to some production shortages, which were recently overcome.
