With the Intel Sandy Bridge processors come new AMD graphics cards, ThunderBolt I/O port and a Facetime camera. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 to debut next month, priced 425 euro and 532 euro respectively

by 14 comments

Some good news comes from India today, where Ranjit Yadav, local head of Samsung Mobile there, shared to the press that the new Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 tablets will launch next month. Sure, he meant India, but for all we know, the world-wide Western launch date shouldn’t be much different than the Indian one. So far all we had in terms of schedule from Samsung was simply Q2.

What’s more, we get to see the price of the two tablets too. Read more »

Android Ice cream sandwich name confirmed, release at Google I/O next week looking probable

by 965 comments

Rumors about the naming of the next Android iteration have been around ever since Honeycomb came out and it seems most of them were right. The Ice cream sandwich moniker has just been confirmed by a Google employee on the Android support forums.

What’s more interesting though is that the same forum member mentioned that it will bring a fix for the SweepGradient on paint on Android 3.0 Issue. And no – it’s not important what that class does (though it’s fairly obvious) – what matters is that Android Ice cream sandwich will be an update to Honeycomb. It could be the Android 3.1 that Adobe carelessly mentioned last week. Read more »

Well, look what the mailman brought to our door today. A big black box – big enough to house a tablet – certainly not your average cellphone box. And inside it, we found a big black book.

A few pages later we found the LG Optimus Black waiting quietly inside. But the box held more surprises than that. Read more »

LG Optimus Pad costs 800 pounds in UK, ouch!

by 862 comments

Carphone Warehouse has priced LG’s upcoming Optimus Pad tablet at £800. The retailer’s website says the Optimus Pad is in stock but I seriously doubt that, most probably it is on the way and should become available soon.

The tablet is already available in Japan and the USA (via T-Mobile), but we are still awaiting its worldwide launch. If it’s going to hit the shelves with an £800 price tag I guess it will be staying on them for a while. Read more »
