As for the first generation Apple Watch, which is set to go on sale next month on April 24th, Arcuri said that the iPhone maker is still facing yield issues with the device, predicting that the company will be able to build only 6 million units by June. Motorola is giving you a free 3G Moto E (2nd gen) if you buy a Moto X Pure Edition until March 24

by 30 comments

The deal of the day (and possibly even the week) comes from Motorola. The company is offering you a free 3G Moto E (2nd generation). All you have to do to get it for nothing is buy a Moto X (2014) Pure Edition straight from its maker.

So you first design your Moto X the way you like it, and when you’re finished with that just add the Moto E to your cart. At this point the savings should automatically appear, transforming the Moto E’s price into $0. The only (pretty huge) caveat is that the Moto X you purchase will have to be off-contract. by 60 comments

Joining more capable brethren in the face of the Galaxy Tab A pair announced quietly today, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 V became official in a similar lackluster fashion. Launched in Malaysia, the affordable 7-inch tablet brings decent hardware at a reasonable MYR499 price ($135).

Aimed at first-time tablet buyers, the Galaxy Tab 3 V comes equipped with a 7-inch WSVGA display (that’s 1,024 x 600 pixels in layman’s terms), which results in 170ppi, actually more pixel-dense than the Galaxy Tab A’s. Read more »

by 38 comments

Samsung’s round smartwatch, which we already know will be called Orbis, has long been in the works and its launch is reportedly nearing. What we’ve learned now is that the Korean company may be employing the flagship grade Exynos 7420 in the upmarket wearable in an attempt to achieve better battery efficiency.

Now it may appear counter-intuitive to utilize arguably the most powerful SoC on the market when battling for increased longevity, but the chipset’s state-of-the-art 14nm manufacturing process indeed promises great efficiency. Read more »

Here is how Windows 10 achieves a small footprint and leaves more space for your files

by 46 comments

At one time, or another, all of us have dealt with storage space shortage. Lacking free space can really be a hustle and as mobile tech becomes smaller and runs more advanced software and rich multimedia, storage limitations become very common. SSD drives bring enormous performance gain, but their limited capacity is definitely complicating the situation.

Modern operating systems are severely affected by storage limitations as developers are tasked with cramming increasingly sophisticated code into tiny spaces. The latest installment of Microsoft Windows is particularly vulnerable in this respect, especially, considering the company’s ambitious desire to make it run across an enormous array of devices, ranging all the way from beastly gaming PC rigs, down to budget, pocketsize smartphones.
