The 1996 video game smash hit Tomb Raider finally made its way to the Android ecosystem. The title has been available for iOS since December 2013.
Square Enix has priced the Android version of the game at a sweet 99 cents.
It might be April Fools’ Day today, but this is no joke. Motorola has decided to run another price-cutting promo for the Moto X on this occasion, and you’re now able to save $140 if you purchase the device.
It normally starts at $499.99, but if you order one now it will start at $359.99. Obviously we’re talking about buying the Moto X off-contract, as the promo sadly isn’t valid if you get it with a long-term carrier agreement.

LG has been teasing the said promotion for quite some time now. It was supposed to launch in February, but, obviously, there have been some setbacks.
It appears the gift is now available, but only in the US and only in “particular stores” and, of course, while supplies last. The promotional webpage does not mention stores in particular and a footnote, leading nowhere states that the list is available online at lg.com, but we didn’t manage to find it, so if you have some info on that, be sure to leave it in the comment section.
New parents love checking the comments and number of Likes on the photos of their infants on Facebook. However, it is not easy to visit those comments when those photos are spread over different albums and at a different time frame.
That’s why Facebook is rolling out new Scrapbook feature for the parents to organize all the baby photos in one place. The Scrapbook can be a private album or available to friends.
The Samsung 850 EVO SSDs came a while back, but they were available only in 2.5″ form-factors. Now Samsung has introduced the mSATA and M.2 versions. M.2 is the successor to mSATA and new super-thin laptops – like the ones these SSDs are targeting – are already switching to the new standard.
The SSDs are available for sale now, replacing the 840 EVO mSATAs.
Smart watches are passé. HTC has just announced the RE SOK, the world’s smart sock. The sock integrates a display on the side that shows your phone’s notifications, so instead of doing the bothersome task of pulling the phone out of your pocket or bag, just hold your ankle next to your face.
The RE SOK also has a lot of other features. GPS tracking ensures you can find your other sock in case you ever lose it, a system designed to find holes in the sock, superslip coating to make it easier to slide around on hardwood floors (up to 40%), and complete compatibility with all versions of shoes (except sandals; the SOK are programmed to self destruct when used with sandals).
Facebook tracks the Web movements of all its European visitors, including people who are logged out, have opted out of the tracking option, as well as even those without an account, according to a report compiled by the Belgian Privacy Commission.
“When a logged-in Facebook user visits a site with Facebook social plug-ins, Facebook receives the Facebook ID and browser ID, along with the URL of the page being visited,” the report says. “[And] when a Facebook user explicitly logs out, Facebook keeps uniquely identifying … cookies in the browser, which are then used to track logged-out users across the web.”
After teasing a new game changer product last week, OnePlus has finally introduced the OnePlus DR-1 drone today. What may appear to be a well fabricated prank, is actually true. The Chinese startup intends to sell limited units of this remote controlled drone.
The tiny limited edition DR-1 drone weighs only 15 grams and is just 2.75 inches wide. It has a 4-axis flaps which can be maneuvered using a joystick-like remote control. Also, the controller joystick offers two flight mode settings for letting the drone adapt whenever switching between them.
Microsoft is bringing back MS-DOS but this time on the mobile. The company has announced a new version of MS-DOS for the mobile platform that you can download and install on your Lumia device.
The new (or rather the old) OS takes you back to your roots, back to some of the first computers we used. You can now relive those days in all their grayscale glory on your phone. The OS is also forwards compatible, so you can run Windows Phone apps as well, although pretty sure MS-DOS had more apps than Windows Phone does.
Sony took the wraps off a Limited Edition Batman: Arkham Knight PlayStation 4. The console is currently available for pre-order for $449.99.
The hot PS4 bundle includes a Steel Gray PS4 chassis with Batman: Arkham Knight faceplate and DualShock 4 wireless controller.
Google announced the smallest member of the Chrome OS gang to date. Dubbed Chromebit, the Asus-made device is a tiny HDMI dongle, which turns any compatible display in to a Chrome OS computer.
Despite its highly pocketable size, Chromebit packs respectable specs.
Today Alcatel has officially started US pre-orders for its first smartwatch, the aptly named OneTouch Watch. The wearable was announced earlier this year, and it’s very affordably priced at $149.99.
That’s a far cry from the Apple Watch, for example, but don’t forget that this doesn’t run Android Wear, Google’s platform for smartwatches. Instead, Alcatel chose to develop its own solution, one that is thankfully compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones.
The Surface Pro 3 has been out for a while now, but it’s quite expensive for the mass-market. So Microsoft decided to unveil the Surface 3 tablet today (sans the “Pro”). This is basically the successor to the Windows RT-powered original Surface and Surface 2, but it no longer runs that little-used iteration of the OS – and it no longer sports an ARM processor.
This time, Microsoft is pairing an Intel Atom x7 with ‘full’ Windows 8.1 (upgradeable for free to Windows 10 when that launches), so the Surface 3 will run any Windows app you throw at it – including the full version of Office, of course. That rectifies what were probably the biggest downsides to the RT-powered Surface tablets of the past.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that design trends, pushing for even thinner devices, are ferociously clashing with the slow advancements in battery technology. Learning to accept that, Oppo has been going down a different road, focusing on fast charging as the obvious compromise.
The company is very proud of its developments in the field and took on no other but industry heavyweight Qualcomm, claiming the American solution to be inferior.
