Real Racing 3 set to receive a Dubai-themed update soon, will let you race at the Dubai Autodrome

The popular racing game Real Racing 3 is about to get a major update dubbed simply The Dubai Update. As you’ve already guessed by now, racing will take place in Dubai, and more specifically at the Dubai Audorome.

Lenovo getting ready to enter the US and EU smartphone markets within a year

Lenovo slowly but surely shows its potential of becoming a respectable smartphone maker (the K900 being its latest and greatest Android smartphone), but outside of China, its smartphones are only available in India, Indonesia and Russia.

The Hisense Sero 7 Pro Android tablet, together with the entry-level Sero 7 LT slate, is the Chinese manufacturer’s first effort designed with the lucrative US market in mind. Priced at the highly acceptable $149.99, the Jelly Bean slate offers a better spec sheet than a Google Nexus 7 for noticeably less cash.

Microsoft pits the Lumia 920 camera against the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S III

If you ever stumbled upon the recently created Windows Phone tumblr blog, you’d have notice a smattering of amusing GIFs comparing the quality of the Lumia 920′s low light images against those of the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S III.

Now, they have released a video that shows the three phones placed side by side, shooting the same bizarre scene all at the same time and then the results are provided for you to see. As you can guess, the Lumia 920 comes out on top with a significantly brighter image, with the iPhone 5 a distant second and the Galaxy S III in the last. Read more »

Google to finally shutdown Buzz on July 17, will backup your posts on Google Drive

Back in October 2011, Google announced that they will be shutting down the ill-fated Google Buzz social network. Now, the company is taking the final steps towards this goal but before they delete all your Buzz related data, they will be backing it up on Google Drive on or after July 17, 2013.

Buzz users will find a copy of all their Buzz posts in a new private folder in their Google Drive account. A second, publicly accessible folder will be made for all your public posts on Drive. As with other files on Drive, you can choose to download, share or delete these files. These newly-created files will not count against your storage limits. Read more »

A new technology from South Korea promises to triple the efficiency of lithium-ion batteries

A new technology developed by a group of South Korean scientists can triple the efficiency and in turn the capacity of lithium-ion batteries, according to a report from the country’s science ministry.

The scientists of Seoul National University have found out a way to increase the capacity of the lithium-ion battery by three times by using a nano structure of iron oxide and manganese oxide for the cathode of the battery, instead of the lead, which is currently being used. Read more »

Verizon’s Nokia Lumia 928 works on AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks too

The Nokia Lumia 928 brought something we hadn’t seen in a while – xenon flash – but it’s a Verizon exclusive, others are getting the thinner, but LED flash only Lumia 925. As it turns out, however, you can get the Lumia 928 working on a GSM network too.

Reddit user volvoshine is reporting that a Lumia 928 worked on AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks after adding the proper access points. That works because Verizon’s phones come with unlocked GSM connectivity for roaming purposes, but there are a few caveats. Read more »

Apple releases new iPhone 5 TV commercial: ‘Music Every Day’

After some short, fast-paced ads with upbeat music, Apple went back to its roots with slower, more emotional ads for the iPhone 5 with the last one. Well, now, there is one more. Whereas the previous ad concentrated on the camera functionality of the iPhone, the new one focuses on the music experience.

As with the previous one, the entire ad is practically wordless with just some simple, soothing music playing in the background. We see people enjoying music on their iPhones in a variety of ways, from using the iconic white earbuds to loudspeaker, sound docks and even DJ consoles. EA announces Need for Speed Rivals

Fans of Need for Speed, rejoice. EA has announced the next game in the long running series of arcade racers, Need for Speed Rivals. As with some of the previous games, Rivals will feature both street racers as well as the cops trying to catch them and as a player you will get to play on either side of the law.

So what’s new in this game, then? According to EA, Rivals features a new gameplay mode call AllDrive, which blurs the lines between single player and multiplayer mode. Read more »

LG unveils 5-inch HD Oxide mobile displays with 1mm bezel

LG unveiled its latest 5-inch HD Oxide mobile displays with 1mm slim bezel at the Society of Information Display 2013 held in Canada. The Korean company also demonstrated its flexible OLED HD panels at the event side by side with its Oxide displays.

The 5-inch Oxide display is likely to be a 720p variant, rather than a 1080p one. Read more »
