Sony teases Xperia Z2 ahead of MWC event

Sony has tweeted out an image (shown below) of processed film, lots of sticky note paper and scribbles with the promise that “Something extraordinary is coming…”.

While we cannot gather much from the laconic image what we can guess at is that the something in question is coming in a couple of days at the Mobile World Congress and could very well turn out to be the Xperia Z2. Perhaps the numerous colorful props in the image would indicate a black, white, red, purple, yellow and pink color option, or perhaps we’re looking too much into it? Read more »

Windows Phone 8 is on 80% of all WP handsets

The latest data out of AdDuplex indicates that the latest version of Windows Phone, WP8, is now on four of every five devices running Microsoft’s mobile OS.

This comes as a result of growth of the WP ecosystem through both adaptation of new handsets and retirement of older Windows Phone 7 handsets. Read more »

WhatsApp for Android update brings updated privacy settings

WhatsApp has released a new update (v2.11.169) for Android that brings with it some new privacy options. You can now choose who can see your ‘Last seen’, profile photo and status message. You can let everyone see it, only your contacts see it or set it so no one can see it.

The iOS version of WhatsApp has had the ability to hide the Last seen status since forever but it’s only now that the Android version received it. But along with it, it also got the ability to hide the profile photo and status message, that iOS version does not yet have. Read more »

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition arriving on PC, PS3, 360 and Wii U

Last year Warner Bros. released Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita. The game is based on Batman: Arkham Origins that was released on the consoles but featured a different, 3D side-scrolling gameplay (also known as 2.5D).

Warner Bros. will now be releasing the game on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. This is essentially the same game, called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition, but redone in HD for the more powerful systems and will also feature a new map, hint system and 5.1 channel surround sound.
