Samsung releases Galaxy S5 and Gear 2 commercials

Samsung has released two new commercials for the new Galaxy S5 smartphone and the Gear 2 smartwatch, respectively. Both commercials were also shown during yesterday’s 86th Academy Awards ceremony, which Samsung was an official sponsor of.

Both ads are quite simple and done quite well. They feature simple shots of the products with a few line of text using double entendre, talking about the devices and the ceremony during which they were telecast at the same time. Read more »

HTC releases second teaser video for the upcoming HTC One

Just when we had stopped cringing at the first teaser video for the second generation HTC One, to be announced on March 25, HTC has gone ahead and released a second one.

Just like the first one, which concentrated on the BoomSound speakers, the new video focuses on another important feature of the new One, the anodized aluminum unibody. The new HTC One seems to use the same process that they used for the current HTC One, which is no bad thing as the design and build of the current HTC One is excellent. Read more »

Next generation Samsung Chromebook press image leaks

A press image of the next generation Samsung Chromebook made the rounds on Twitter, courtesy of @evleaks. The photo reveals that the upcoming device will feature the same look as the Korean giant’s latest smartphones and tablets.

Allegedly named Samsung Chromebook 2, the yet to be revealed gadget totes the same stitched faux leather finish as the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Tab Pro family, etc. Read more »

Sony Xperia Z2 system dump appears, porting spree to follow

If you would like to try some of the latest software goodies by Sony, but don’t want to splash on a new Xperia Z2, we have some good news for you. A system dump of the smartphone, complete with all the apps and features has appeared enabling ROM builders to try and extract those and implement them in their own solutions.

Of course, it’s anyone’s guess how long the porting of a certain apps will go – those that are reliant on the Sony Xperia Z2 hardware, like the camera, can need more tweaking before they are able to run on other handsets and support their different sensors. Read more »

Microsoft will let you try Windows 8.1 for free, 8.1 update on April 8th

Microsoft is toying with a version of Windows 8.1 that comes with Bing, which is a different, low-cost version of the OS that comes packaged with Microsoft applications and services.

The LG G Pad 8.3 had its price slashed over at Newegg and now costs just $224.99. This makes the premium slate, which also has an Google Play Edition version out, $5 cheaper than the Nexus 7.
