Google has just unveiled two new additions to its lineup of Nexus devices, plus a couple of new versions of the popular Nexus 7 tablet. And, as the tradition goes in such cases, the company has released a promo video, highlighting the strongest points of the newly announced devices.
In this case the video is mostly focused on the Google Now voice-operated service, demonstrating how you can ask your Nexus device just about anything and it will immediately find the answer for you. Read more »
The 7-inch tablet wars just got serious. After the Nexus 7 got compared (in what I think were less than key areas) to the iPad Mini at the Apple’s event last week, now Amazon has flexed its muscle, pitting its Kindle Fire HD against the iPad Mini on its very homepage.
The online retailer has put up a big ad right on its homepage saying “Much more for much less” and made a comparison of its own 7-inch Kindle Fire HD against the iPad Mini, highlighting the display resolution, pixels per inch and most importantly – the price. Read more »
After its quick start guide leaked yesterday, the Samsung Nexus 10 is certainly just a few days away from its official announcement now. However this doesn’t mean that leaks will suddenly stop and we’ll just sit and wait quietly. This time it’s Google’s Senior Vice President of Engineering who spilled the beans by sharing a couple of photos taken with the slate.
The photo you see above is reported at a resolution of 2048×1536 (3.1MP) and I have to say it doesn’t look too bad.
Furthermore, we got to learn the Samsung Nexus 10 specs thanks to the GLBenchmark website. Read more »
The iPad mini has only started selling today but it’s already on backorder with the next shipments due for no sooner than 2 weeks across the world. The only exception is the US where the black version will still be delivered on the promised November 2nd.
It’s either that the white version is immensely more popular in the US or there were fewer white units available. Read more »

Alleged photos of the Samsung Nexus 10 quick start guide have popped up giving us a glimpse of the slate’s design and hardware controls layout.
This is by far the most solid evidence of the slate’s existence after a purported photo taken with it appeared on Picasa. Read more »
When Apple announced the iPad mini, one of the things I noticed was how thin the bezel is on the side. The iPad has a sizable bezel all around its display and Apple’s reason for that was to be able to hold the device without touching the screen. So why did they make the bezel so thin on the iPad mini?
At first glance it seems like a major design gaffe but turns out, it’s not. Because the bezel on the iPad mini is so thin on the sides, the software has been designed to ignore your thumb even if you rest it directly on the display. Read more »
Yesterday, Apple announced the new iPad mini but along with that also introduced a fourth generation iPad, just eight months after the third generation model was announced earlier this year. And it’s not a small update, either. The fourth generation model comes with a faster A6X processor that doubles the CPU and GPU power, faster wireless connectivity and the new Lighting port.
Naturally, if you bought the third generation model recently, you’d be feeling a bit jelly. But if you happened to have purchased that model in the past 30 days, you just might be in luck. Read more »
Yesterday, Apple held an event in San Jose, California, where they announced the new iPad mini, fourth generation iPad, new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, new iMac, refreshed Mac mini and a new iBooks application.
The keynote was live streamed but was only available for viewing if you owned a Mac, an iOS device or an Apple TV but now the keynote video is available for download to everyone. Read more »
Apple managed to one-up all expectations today by unveiling not one, but two new iPads – the iPad mini and the 4th gen 10-inch iPad. The new 10-incher succeeds and immediately replaces the 3rd gen iPad, which has been selling for barely seven months now.
Both the new iPads will be available this holiday season in all the countries in this long list.
The Wi-Fi versions of the new iPads will be available for pre-order this Friday (Oct. 26) and will be shipping as early as next week, starting on November 2. Read more »
As per tradition Apple has released a promotion video for its newly announced iPad mini.
The smaller 7.9-inch slate shares its chipset and screen resolution of the iPad 2, but adds a 5MP rear camera and the new Lightning port. The video tells more about those as well as the other cool bits of the compact tablet. Read more »
As a welcome break of tradition, Apple is going to offer live streaming of its iPad mini event tonight. The company will let you become a part of the unveiling of its latest product through its web site or, if you happen to own one, through Apple TV.
As you probably know by now, Apple is going to hold an event, which starts tonight at 17:00 GMT and should see the introduction of the first 7.85” iOS tablet, probably called iPad mini. Sporting a more compact design and a more attractive price tag than its larger sibling, the iPad mini should help iOS get an even firmer grasp of the tablet market. Read more »
A hotly anticipated Apple event will take place later today and the rumor mill is adamant that the star of the show will be the iPad mini. We’ve seen a long, LONG stream of leaks of just about every component of the iPad mini, so let’s unwind with a bit of lighthearted humor before the big event begins.
First, there’s an animated music video that tells the story of the creation of the iPad mini and features a couple of surprising cameos. Read more »
Well, it’s good to know that even Microsoft guys aren’t above throwing gadgets just to see what will happen. Okay, officially it was presented as a reliability test for the Surface tablet, but you can see way too many smiling faces for this to be a boring, repetitive durability test.
The Windows 8 RT-powered slate was shooting 1080p video at the time of the test, which consisted of falling 30″ (76cm) on a hardwood floor. Check out the video of the Surface taking a plunge after the break. Read more »
