Tailoring AOSP Jelly Bean to run on the Xperia Z just wasn’t enough for Sony and now the company is boasting the Xperia Tablet Z to be getting the same treatment.

Apple has reduced its orders for display panels from AU Optronics, the company that supplies the panels for the iPad Mini. The firm will now ship only 2.5 million to 2.8 million units in the second quarter, which is down from 4 million shipped in the first quarter.

Archos announced its ChefPad a few days ago and now, the company has unveiled the 80 xenon, a slate designed with built-in 3G and Wi-Fi.

HP is following up on its x2 line of tablet/laptop hybrids with two new models – the 13.3″ Split x2, running Windows 8, and the 10.1″ SlateBook x2, running… Android. Both are laptops with detachable screens, which turn into tablets on their own.

A research report coming from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the second-gen Nexus 7 is going to pack a substantial upgrade compared to the outgoing model. He suggests the new Nexus 7 would feature a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and is going to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

HTC is allegedly working on a couple Windows RT Blue powered tablets, which are codenamed R7 and R12. The “R” in the title indicates that the slates will be running on the latest Windows RT Blue edition.
