Top 10 Mobile Games of 2014

The past few years have been terrific for mobile gaming. The improvements in hardware has resulted in developers pushing harder with what they can come up with. It has also resulted in a lot of console and PC games being ported over, as it is now possible to do so without losing much in the process.

2014 was a great year for mobile games, with a lot of new games and ports appearing on both the major mobile platforms. We went through a ton of them in the course of a year with our reviews and although some of them were quite disappointing, most were excellent, which is why it was such a hard task to choose the top ten best games of the year, and even more difficult was to arrange them in an order.

Import database reveals Samsung Galaxy Tab 5 tablet on the way

Samsung has a Galaxy Tab 5 slate coming our way. Sporting the model number SM-T55, the upcoming tablet appeared in an Indian import/export database.

Meizu MX4 Pro hands-on

,The year 2014 is almost done but Meizu isn’t done quite yet. After unleashing their yearly flagship device, the Meizu MX4, the maker has put forth a bigger and badder smartphone in the face of the Meizu MX4 Pro.

The Meizu MX4 Pro earns its Pro moniker with a slightly bigger display – 5.5″ over 5.36″, a much higher screen resolution and pixel density –
1536 x 2560px and 546ppi. That’s a solid 128ppi increase over its predecessor.

HTC Gallery app gets updated with Cloud Gallery feature

The HTC Gallery app received an update in time for Christmas in the Google Play Store. The major change in the latest version is the addition of Cloud Gallery – HTC’s take on accessing your photos from different cloud services like Facebook, Dropbox, Flickr and Google Drive.

The gallery app now sports HTC’s Face Fusion photo editor, which came as part of the Eye Experience update. It allows you to have fun with portraits by blending two at a time and create an entirely new face. Tagging friends on different images is now also available. Read more »

Sony rumored to launch a 12.9-inch tablet in 2015

According to a report in DigiTimes, Sony has a high-end 12.9” tablet in the works. The full-size slate is expected to launch in the first half of 2015.

Confirmed: Nokia N1 Android tablet to launch in China on January 7

Just a few days after there were reports that Nokia could launch its first Android tablet, the N1, in China on January 7, the company’s social networking channels have confirmed the news.

As clear from the image shown above, Nokia is running a contest in the Asian country where participants stand a chance to win 800 tickets and six VIP passes for the Finland-based company’s media event on January 7. Asus ZenWatch arrives in the UK one day early

Having already made its way to the USA, the Asus ZenWatch was supposed to finally make its debut in the UK tomorrow. But, for whatever reason, the wearable was launched one day early, as you can already buy one today.

WhatsApp soon to offer voice calls

The possibility of VoIP functionality in WhatsApp has been floating around in the rumor mill for quite some time now. While it has never been officially confirmed, little bits and pieces have been popping out here and there.

Recently a few interesting screenshots have surfaced, showcasing the popular chat application adorned with shiny new voice features.

While the functionality is still not available and probably not even fully complete, Android enthusiasts have managed to dig up a glimpse of what it may look like.

As it turns out, the Android version of WhatsApp exists in two main build branches, One stable branch, which can be found on the Play Store and which almost everybody has on their devices and another one, distributed directly off of the company’s website. Read more »
