Chrome 40 for Android brings along an updated page info and content settings UI

Just a day after updating Chrome for iOS, Google has announced the release of Chrome 40 for Android, bringing in an updated page info and content settings UI, as well as several bug fixes and performance improvements.

Although the release doesn’t bring along any groundbreaking feature, there are, however, some useful additions, including a new bookmarks manager, larger address bar with overflow button for devices running Android Lollipop, close all tabs shortcut for tablets, as well as a new zoom and view/copy URL behavior. WhatsApp Web officially launches for Google Chrome, yet sans iOS support for now

The much leaked Web interface for WhatsApp is now live. As you may have imagined, this allows you to use your computer to send and receive WhatsApp messages. But, true to this app’s very obvious “mobile first” mantra, the Web client is acting simply as an extension of your phone.

Thus, all the messages still actually live on your handset, they’re just shown to you on the Web as well. So your phone needs to be connected to the Internet while you’re using WhatsApp Web on your computer, keep that in mind. Read more »

LG’s new trailer shows how the G Flex 2 redefines the mobile industry

LG is definitely no stranger to flashy commercials and visually impressive promos and the Korean giant seems to be going all out for the LG G Flex 2 – the latest addition to its device lineup. The recently released video is somewhat of an extended version of the clip show at CES 2015 when the smartphone was announced.

Humble Mobile Bundle 10 offering $30 worth of Android games for just $4

Humble Bundle, the company that offers large bundles of games for whatever price you want to pay, has released a new bundle for Android, bringing a nice assortment of games to the table. Dubbed Humble Mobile Bundle 10, the latest bundle offers three pay-what-you-want titles: Buddy & Me, LYNE, and Doodle Kingdom, which are normally priced at $2, $2.50, and $3, respectively.

However, if you’re willing to pay higher than the average, which as of writing sits at $3.90, you’ll also be able to access Sorcery 2, King of Dragon Pass, and OTTTD, normally priced at $5, $10, and $5, respectively. Read more »

Asus Fonepad 8 tablet launches in India with voice call support

Today Asus launched a new tablet in the Indian market. It’s the Fonepad 8, model number FE380CG, which was originally unveiled last June. Not only has it been introduced in the subcontinent, but it’s already available to buy.

The device has been priced at INR 13,999, which roughly translates into $227 or €195 at the current exchange rates. For that amount you’re getting a tablet, but you can also think about the Fonepad 8 as a huge phone – since it has voice calling features. Read more »

ADUPS responds to FOTA misbehavior accusations on Micromax smartphones

A few days ago we reported about a sketchy update service on Micromax phones. Multiple users complained that they were seeing ads in their notification areas or, even worse, completely new installed apps that they never approved. All these unpleasantries appeared after updating the phone’s firmware.

Today ADUPS issued a statement on the matter. The company denies any involvement in such activities through its services and suggests false claims by competitors. Read more »

Samsung to launch Kies 4 in Q1 2015

Samsung’s smartphone manager Kies suite for PC and Mac is about to get a major overhaul, as noted by a development cited by SamMobile. The suite is going to be redesigned to be more inline with the company’s TouchWiz look for the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

As a result, we expect simpler user interface and if the chatter is true, Kies 4 will launch in Q1 2015. Coincidentally, that’s when the company also launches its flagship smartphones, so hopefully the Galaxy S6 will have a new computer buddy to play with. Read more »

YU Yureka Review

Micromax Mobile, one of India’s leading mobile phone manufacturers, recently launched a new sub-brand called YU in partnership with Cyanogen Inc. The first phone from this brand is the Yureka, which was recently announced and launched exclusively on Amazon India.

Yureka is a budget Android smartphone. It is essentially a Coolpad F2 4G with the YU branding and running Cyanogen OS 11. It is one of the cheapest dual-SIM 4G Android smartphones available in India right now but at the same time has some pretty impressive specifications. So with a low price tag, good specifications, and Cyanogen taking care of the software, the whole thing seems too good to be true. But is it really? Let’s find out. Read more »

Sony Xperia C3 and Xperia C3 Dual battery life

Sony Xperia C3 Dual stopped by our office recently and we did a thorough inspection as usual. The 5.5″ phablet runs on the dated Snapdragon 400, but offers some great features as selfie-centric front snapper with a LED flash, a rear 8MP camera, plus dual-SIM or LTE connectivity.
