Samsung has released the new Galaxy Muse music player in the US. The device acts as a companion music player for your Galaxy S III, Note II, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, and is one of the most confounding devices I have seen in recent times that almost seems like an April Fool’s hoax.
Unlike all the other music players on the market, the Galaxy Muse cannot be connected to your computer to transfer music files to the device, even though it has a decent 4GB on board. In order to transfer music to the Muse, you will have to connect it to your Galaxy S III or Note II. Read more »
The downloads in the Amazon Appstore are up 500% from last year, which makes it the fastest growing app repository around.
Of course, Amazon mostly has its aggressively priced Kindle Fire and Fire HDs to thank for that but we shouldn’t underestimate the other Android smartphones that use it daily. That free app per day promotion has certainly helped the growth, too. Read more »
The Windows Phone 8-running Ativ S is yet to be released, but Samsung is already starting to warm up for the launch.
The Ativ S should go on sale some time this month, but Samsung is yet to confirm the first countries to get its WP8 smartphone. That probably won’t take long as the company has already started its marketing campaign on the device. Two newly uploaded videos demonstrate pretty much everything the Ativ S can tempt you with. HTC’s Butterfly, the droid with the 5″ 1080p screen, started off in Japan, moved to the US and has now finally gone international. It keeps the same cool specs as the country-specific versions, including the high-res S-LCD3 and the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset.
But instead of telling you about it, it’s easier to show it with this video ad for the HTC Butterfly. Read more »
We reported a few days ago about the Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy S III, which brings with it Samsung’s Premium Suite features, features that are basically borrowed from the bigger Galaxy Note II.
Now Samsung has released a video that showcases some of the features in this Premium Suite upgrade. It’s a multi-part series of videos and the first of the lot has been uploaded on YouTube. Read more »
Archos has released its latest Android tablet, called the GamePad. As you can tell, the device has been optimized for gaming and as such comes with a full set of physical controls besides the display.
Of course, simply having the controls isn’t going to help. The games need to be able to use these controls, without which the whole thing would be pointless. This is where Archos’ mapping tool comes into play. Read more »
The Google Nexus 10 has finally graced our office with its presence. Not only is this Google’s first swing at a 10-inch slate, but it’s also the tablet with the highest resolution screen on the market. It’s got a 2560×1600-pixel LCD with a pixel density of 300 ppi, which can put even the Retina iPad to shame.
The Google Nexus 10 is also the first tablet to be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 5250 chipset, featuring a couple of Cortex-A15 cores. And all Google is asking for this impressive package is $400. Read more »

Sometimes things go exactly as planned, other times – as Microsoft found out – things fail with a loud bang. The software giant has been on an offensive against Google lately – the Scroogled campaign and, more recently, the #DroidRage campaign.
Except most of the Twitter missiles that Microsoft though users will fire at Android as part of the campaign were smacked right into Windows Phone. Read more »

Rockstar has released the 10th Anniversary Edition of their popular Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game on iOS and Android. The game is available on the App Store and Google Play for $4.99.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for mobile is the exact same game that you may have enjoyed ten years ago on a console or a PC. The graphics have been updated with today’s mobile devices in mind, which means the game you will be playing today will be running at a higher resolution compared to what it did on the PS2 all those years ago. We all love Dropbox here. It’s easily the best way to quickly transfer small files between devices without the hassles of using a cable and also great for backing up important data.
Now the Android version of the app has hit version 2.2.2, which brings with it a small but significant change. You can now move files and folders around, something that was annoyingly missing in the previous versions. Just tap on the drop down menu button next to the file or folder, and then use the Move option to select a location where you’d like to move it. Read more »
