Samsung Galaxy S4 mini was announced a month after the Galaxy S4 flagship hit the shelves worldwide. The mini version is powered by a less capable dual-core Snapdragon 400 chipset but still runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s own TouchWiz and promises the same solid smartphone experience as the flagship.

eBay has finally launched its eBay Now app for Android. eBay Now is a service that lets you have products from local stores delivered to you in about an hour.

It was recently discovered that Android has had a major security hole since version 1.6, which allowed hackers to modify almost any Play Store app and turn it malicious without tripping the built-in security measures. Well, that hole has already been plugged and the fix has been sent out to OEMs (Google was made aware of the issue in February, so it has had time to fix it).

Anyone who uses Twitter regularly knows how annoying it is to receive a direct message (or DM, as they are commonly known) on one of your Twitter apps and read it, only to find it still being marked as unread on all the other apps. Thankfully, the latest update fixes this issue, at least on the official first party Twitter apps.

In a co-ordinated update to its iPhone, iPad, Android, OS X apps, as well as TweetDeck, Twitter Web and Twitter Mobile, Twitter now syncs your read DMs, which means reading them on one device automatically marks them as read on other official apps. Read more »

Disney’s original Where’s My Water? game has been pretty successful. Combining simple mechanics with thoughtful puzzles, it was a great way to quickly pass time. It’s sequel, Where’s My Perry? introduced a new character and story along with some new gameplay elements.

Having said that, Where’s My Perry? did feel like more of the same, so you’d think Disney would stop at that. But they haven’t and so now we have Where’s My Mickey?. Once again, we get more of the same sand swiping action and directing of fluids around the screen but with a different character, one we are all too familiar with. MIUI is one of the most famous Android launchers out there and now it’s available for HTC One users as an easy to flash ROM.

Based on AOSP version of Android 4.2.2 via a fork of the CyanogenMod ROM, the MIUI v5 for HTC One is reported as a pretty stable replacement of the Sense UI experience that the stock HTC One provides. Many owners say it’s much prettier, too. Read more »

Samsung Iceland released an odd, yet hilarious ad for the Galaxy S4, which takes a jab at the Apple iPhone in a never before seen fashion. The ad metaphorically highlights the advantages of the Korean flagship by employing a team of dancing ninjas and (get ready for this) a goat.

Continuing its tradition of designing accessories for the Samsung Galaxy family of smartphones, the California based manufacturer Elago released a trio of protective cases for the Galaxy S4. Out of the bunch, I managed to spend quality time with the Elago G7 Breathe case. The cover is designed to offer basic protection for the smartphone, as well as (arguably) enhance its appearance.

This is not my first experience with Elago products. Over the years, the company has established itself firmly on the market by offering products which pack great bang for the buck. Barnes & Noble recently cut the prices of its Nook HD tablets in the UK, but the price cuts now got extended to the US too and Amazon is fighting back with price cuts of its own Fire HD tablets (again both in the UK and in the US).

In the US the 7″ B&N Nook HD costs $129 for the 8GB version and $149 for the 16GB version. In the UK the prices are £99 and £129 respectively. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Camera, the Android based point and shoot camera comes with a specially designed camera app, which offers some cool features for advanced photographers.

Early benchmarks for the HTC Butterfly S are in and unsurprisingly it muscles the HTC One out of the way. It gives other flagships a run for their money too, topping several benchmarks and coming close to the top in the rest. And this is with early, unfinished software too.

The Butterfly S packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with four Krait 300 CPU cores clocked at 1.9GHz, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Those are the same specs as the Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4 and better than the HTC One (same chipset, but CPU is at 1.7GHz, GPU is probably clocked lower too). Read more »
