Alleged Samsung Galaxy Note III benchmark surfaces

The third-generation Samsung Galaxy Note phablet will be one of the hottest devices of the Fall and naturally it is getting its fair share of leaks and rumors. Now, an alleged benchmark result of the Samsung Galaxy Note III (what seems to be coming from a Hong Kong variant) has surfaced.

The score card reveals the presence of an Exynos octa-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz and the according to the benchmark results, the device is running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Read more »

BlackBerry Messenger coming to Android and iOS in September

BlackBerry’s CEO Thorsten Heins announced that the popular BlackBerry Messenger will be available on Android and iOS back at the BlackBerry live 2013 conference. We then had a tweet from the BlackBerry Worldwide tweeter account stating that the app will be available on June 27.

Unfortunately, the account didn’t turn out to be an official BlackkBerry affair and the BlackBerry Messenger for the Android and iOS did not make its appearance on the suggested date. However, the much-awaited BBM for the two of the most popular smartphone platforms will be available “this summer”, according to the BlackBerry India managing director. Read more »

BitTorrent Sync enters Beta, introduces Android app

Google redesigns Play Store on the web

Google has pushed out a new visual update for the Play Store on the web and it is the most comprehensive UI overhaul so far. The store features a brand new interface throughout and also brings along some much needed speed improvement.

On the homepage you can see they have gotten rid of the slideshow for apps on top and you simply start with recommended apps, games, movies, etc. tailored for you. If you want to see more, just click ‘See more’ on the side. The lists on the left have also been removed in the redesign. The homepage also tends to load content as you scroll down, as seen on the recent Play Store for Android update. Read more »

Rovio announces Angry Birds Star Wars II, coming on September 19

Rovio teased its new Angry Birds game in last week and now the popular game publisher has officially announced the Angry Birds Star Wars II.

The Angry Birds Star Wars II is said to be bigger, more innovative than any of the other titles in the franchise. The upcoming Angry Birds game will be based on the prequel Star Wars movies and the gameplay will feature 30 different characters. Read more »

Leaked Android 4.2.2 ROM for Samsung N5110 Galaxy Note 8.0 improves speed and battery life

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 launched with Android 4.1 instead of 4.2 like the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 did, but if you want you can flash a leaked version of the official 4.2.2 update. While the update is not rich with new features it reportedly makes the tablet smoother and improves battery life.

Carbon for Twitter gets a major update

It has been a tough start for Carbon. The app started life as a promising Twitter client for Android that a lot of people were waiting for but due to issues with the developers unable to publish it to the Play Store as a paid app from their region, it had to be released for free.

The development then seemingly stopped and for a long time now Carbon has been an abandonware. Although a great little app, The presence of deal-breaking bugs and lack of updates meant you couldn’t really use it even if you wanted to. Thankfully, all that changes with today’s update. Read more »

‘Tiny Thief’ for iOS and Android game review

The name Rovio has long been associated only with the Angry Birds series. Although the company has tried to branch out a bit by releasing titles such as Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies in the past, neither managed to emulate the success of Angry Birds, which also meant Rovio kept going back to the well and kept releasing more Angry Birds game to the point where it’s now hard to tell which one’s which.

Thankfully, the game we are reviewing today, although from Rovio, is not another Angry Birds title. Born out of the Rovio Stars program, Tiny Thief is far away from the Angry Birds universe as it can be. Let’s see what Rovio’s latest experiment is like. Read more »
