Google Now can be used in all languages that Android support

A developer at XDA Forum has found a way to access Google Now in all almost every language supported by the Jelly Bean OS. Sletmo, the coder behind the tweak, has created a modified version of the Google Now application, which is compatible with any system language.

To start using Google Now in your language, all you need to do is to replace the original system app with the modified version. Of course, you will have to root your smartphone in order to complete the process successfully. Read more »

LTE Nexus 7 receives Android 4.3.1 update

Google has started seeding a new update for Nexus devices, which updates the version number to 4.3.1. The first device to receive this update is the LTE version of the new Nexus 7.

The latest BIG thing from Samsung is already here. We are done with our in-depth review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the battery torture test has completed, too. Samsung made sure the beast has enough juice to last for quite a bit, supplying a huge 3200mAh battery.

The Galaxy Note 3 features a supposedly very efficient 5.7″ Super AMOLED screen of 1080p resolution and runs on the fastest chipset available – the Snapdragon 800. Archos refreshes its Platinum lineup with a trio of Android tablets

After launching the Platinum line in the beginning of this year, Archos pulled the cover of three new members with updated internals. The ARCHOS 97b Platinum HD, ARCHOS 101 Platinum and ARCHOS 80b Platinum aid to take on the established players on the market by sporting a lower price tag to go with premium looks.

OUYA retail availability to expand over Europe

The tiny Android-based console OUYA launched back in June in the USA, Canada and the UK. Various retailers offer the former Kickstarter project, which costs $99.99 in North America and £99.99 in the UK

Google Search for Android updated with a new voice search command

For its 15 birthday Google updated its popular search engine for the web and now, the upgrades are rolling out to the Android platform.

The latest version of the Google Search for Android comes with a new command called “Ok Google”. The voice search shortcut is currently in operational only in the US, but will gradually roll out to other regions. Read more »

Fujitsu Arrow Tab FJT21 with multi-user fingerprint reader goes official

Fujitsu has officially announced its latest Arrow Tab, the FJT21. The newest member of the Android tablet club packs a punch with its powerful hardware and is probably the first tablet to feature a fingerprint scanner.

The Fujitsu FJT21 sports a LCD display of 10.1-inch 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Read more »

Samsung adds PayPal payments to its Apps and Hub Android stores

Samsung Apps and Samsung Hub are now accepting PayPal payments. The new payment method was added with the latest update of the Samsung services.

Almost all Android makers cheat on benchmarks

Cheating on benchmarks – everyone is doing it as it turns out, not just Samsung. AnandTech has done some extensive digging and it turns out that virtually all Android vendors cheat on at least a couple of tests, save for Motorola.

Samsung’s list of benchmarks seems longer than the rest and the company does it across three chipsets – Snapdragon, Exynos and Atom. Read more »

Dell announces Android and Windows based Venue tablets

Dell recently revived the ill-fated Venue brand for their tablets. Today, the company has launched four new tablets under the Venue brand, two of which run Android and the other two Windows 8.

The Android based Venue 7 and Venue 8 are basic budget tablets, with each having a 1280×800 resolution IPS LCD and Intel Atom Z2580 SoC with 2GHz dual-core CPU. The Venue 7 will have 16GB internal memory and the Venue 8 (pictured above) will have a choice between 16 and 32, with both models having a microSD card slot. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 teardown reveals that it costs $240 to build the phablet

Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 is one the most talked products in the market. The device is yet to go on sale in couple of major markets, but the smartphone has already undergone a teardown treatment showing all its internal hardware components.

The teardown of the Galaxy Note 3 also reveals that it costs the company around $240 to build the smartphone, which is just about $20 more than what it took to build its predecessor. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 and Note II Jelly Bean 4.3 test firmware leaks

Thanks to an insider ninja, Sammobile.com was able to obtain an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware destined for the Snapdragon 600-clad I9505 Galaxy S4. On a related note a very early Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build has been leaked for the Galaxy Note II as well.

The firmware for the Galaxy S4 and Note II are completely flashable through popular desktop app Odin with the one for the S4 built on September 20 with a European stamp on it. It brings a new Reading Mode, which eliminates unnecessary clutter from pages, a working Samsung Knox security app and more. Read more »

MIUI launcher now available for all Android 2.3+ phones

MIUI and Xiaomi prefer to offer something unique than to offer the regular Android experience, but until now you needed a Xiaomi phone to experience it. Well, no more – you can install the MiHome launcher on any Android phone running 2.3 Gingerbread and above.

I know MIUI isn’t to everyone’s tastes (least of all Holo purists), but the launcher comes with a ton of fun, quality themes, which is great for people who don’t have the talent to make their own (like yours truly). Read more »
