Huawei continues to tease its line-up of devices that’ll debut at the Mobile World Congress this year. This time, the manufacturer has posted a photo of the devices in question with only their outlines being visible.
Earlier this week, the Chinese company started building hype for its MWC devices in a funny video and showed just a bit of the two tablets and phone in question. Today, however, there’s a fourth one, which doesn’t look like either of those. Read more »
Part 2 of Nokia’s #GreenDuck teasers is out and the paddling of ducks hits an obstacle – a dam of discarded phones (there’s a traffic light there too, for some unknown reason).
Nokia also put up a Green Duck page on its web site. The page just lists the two teaser vines but its design is more interesting – it looks just like the custom interface on the Nokia X A110 in the spy shots from earlier today. Read more »
According to a Bloomberg source close to HTC, the Taiwanese company is aiming to show off three wearable devices to carrier representatives at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. One of them is a smartwatch prototype based on Qualcomm’s Toq, the other a smartwatch which will rely heavily on Google Now and finally a bracelet targeted at music lovers.
The source reveals that HTC will likely keep said three devices under wraps from the public eye and only showcase them privately for now – bummer! Read more »
LG recently announced the G Pro 2, which features an improved version of the 13 megapixel camera on the G2, and is one of the main features of this phone. So LG decided to show off its low light capabilities by photographing the aurora borealis, also known as the northern lights.
Although visible clearly to the naked, the aurora borealis is not the easiest thing to capture on a mobile phone camera as it requires a long exposure shot to capture properly. With the help of optical image stabilization, the G Pro 2 can clearly expose much longer than most phones, although the photographers used tripods to take these shots, which sort of defeats the purpose. Google Currents was Google’s content aggregating service along the lines of Flipboard for Android. The app was recently replaced by the much better Newsstand but still existed on the Play Store for users to download.
The app has now finally reached the end of the road, as Google has released an update that will essentially hide the app from your device. After you install the update, launching the app will direct you towards the new Newsstand app and the Currents icon will disappear from your app launcher. Read more »
The Samsung Galaxy Core LTE’s visit to our office ends up with its full battery life test. The phone is oriented towards those seeking an LTE phone on a budget without compromising battery life. We’ll see if the Galaxy Core LTE fits the bill.
At least on paper, it appears this to be the case. The Galaxy Core LTE sports a 2,100mAh battery, which is more than decent for a 4.5″ qHD screen. However, we’re not sure it’ll be enough to cover the losses from the ageing Cortex-A9 CPU architecture, which isn’t as power efficient as its more modern rivals. Read more »
