Impossible Road is a very minimal arcade game with really tough gameplay, similar to games like Super Hexagon, Flappy Bird and Pivvot, that are easy to play but ridiculously hard to master. The game was released on iOS last year and received a positive response from gamers.

Twitter has implemented a new notification system for the web, wherein you will receive pop up notifications within the browser page. Now, every time someone retweets your tweets, marks them as favorite, replies to them, sends you a direct message or follows you, you will get a notification on the web page. This feature is similar to the notifications that Facebook has had for a long time now.

Along with showing information, you can also interact with these notifications, so if someone sends you a reply, you can reply to them from within the popup notification. Read more »

Google has released a new version of the Chrome Beta browser for Android (v35.0.1916.34). Chief among the new features is a handy undo function for closed tabs. If you ever find yourself accidentally closing a tab, you will get an undo button at the bottom of the screen, which will quickly reopen the tab. If you keep pressing it, the app will keep reopening previously closed tabs.

Another change is to fullscreen video playback within the browser. The controls for fullscreen video have now been revamped and instead of the large playback control overlay at the bottom you just get a longer version of the standard controls in fullscreen mode. Read more »

Dropbox had a lot of announcements to make yesterday, starting with a new service and two new apps. First is the Dropbox for Business service, which lets companies get a Dropbox account for all their employees, who can then manage their personal and business accounts from the same device and using the same account.

Dropbox for Business gives admins features like remote wipe, account transfer and sharing audit logs. One new feature arriving later is Project Harmony, which lets you see who is editing a file and chat with other users, similar to Google Drive. Read more »

After nearly two years of releasing on other platforms, including iOS, Telltale Games has ported over the first season of The Walking Dead to Android. The game is based on a comic series of the same name and features survival horror adventure gameplay.

One of the interesting things about the game is that there is very little actual movement of the character you have to do yourself and usually you just tap on the objects on screen to interact with them. The story is told through interactive cutscenes, which makes it feel like you’re watching a movie whose outcome you can determine. Read more »

Popular reading app Pocket has pushed a new update on iOS and Android that brings some useful new features, especially on Android. One of the features common on both platform is support for additional languages, as the app now also supports Chinese, Dutch, Korean, Polish and Portuguese.

The Android version also get a new fullscreen mode that supports the immersive mode on devices running KitKat, which means the app will now go truly fullscreen, hiding the controls and the navigation bar completely. Read more »

Adobe has released a mobile version of its popular photo editing software – Lightroom – for the iPad. Lightroom for iPad lets you work on your Lightroom files stored on the cloud as well as locally stored files on the iPad.

Lightroom for iPad needs an Adobe account and a subscription to Photoshop Photography Program. Once that is done, you will be able to access the files you worked on and stored on Adobe’s cloud service through your desktop PC. Lightroom for iPad will let you work on any file you uploaded, including full size RAW files. Any changes you make are saved to the file stored online, which can then be accessed again when you get back to your desktop PC. Read more »

It’s no secret that app stores on all platforms have their fair share of fraudulent apps. Most of these apps will take your money and do nothing of what they say in the description or are free to install but end up doing damage in other ways, such as by selling your information or straight up installing malware.

The open nature of Android’s Play Store means it has been an easy target for scammers who don’t have to pass any security checks as one would have to on Apple’s App Store. After the α7 and the α7R, Sony has announced the newest member of its compact full frame cameras, the α7S. The ‘S’ in the name stands for ‘Sensitivity’, which means you can tell the camera all your life problems and it will totally get you. Actually, no. It means that the camera is really good in low-light conditions. And there is also a new 4K video recording mode, which is all the rage these days.

The α7S has a new 12.2 megapixel 35mm EXMOR CMOS sensor with a resolution of 4240 x 2832 (3:2). Sony is using a rather large sensor with a relatively low resolution, which means individual pixels are going to be pretty big. As mentioned before, the camera is also particularly sensitive to light, and boasts of an ISO range of 50 – 409,600. Sony also claims that the camera has an extremely wide dynamic range. All things combined, you can expect some really good results regardless of the lighting conditions you are shooting in. Read more »

The Sony MDR-10RBT are Sony’s mid-range wireless Bluetooth headphones. Although they lack the noise cancelling feature from some of Sony’s more expensive models, they do include some niceties such as NFC connectivity and aptX support, not to mention a friendlier price.

Ever since HTC announced that they will be selling a Google Play edition of the HTC One M8 through the Play Store, there have been speculations on how HTC would handle the hardware and software specific features on this particular model, especially the Duo Camera feature.

CyanogenMod has unequivocally been the most popular custom ROM for Android devices. The company behind it became so popular that last year it received a $7 million funding and became Cyanogen Inc.

Keeping up with their new image, the company has introduced a new logo that shall henceforth be used with their name. Along with the name, the logo has a hexagon with a C and an arrow around it. The hexagon stands for the user, which is why it is prominently placed in the center as it is the focus of the brand, the C stands for company and community as it brings the two together and the arrow points forward towards the future. Among a bevy of announcements, Microsoft had another announcement to make regarding the cost of Windows Phone and Windows to OEMs who’d want to license it for their devices.

According to the announcement, Windows and Windows Phone will now be available for free to manufacturers for use on devices with displays smaller than 9-inches. This includes all smartphones and small tablets with 8-inch displays. Read more »

Over the years, emoji has managed to occupy a considerable portion of our text based communication. Those with devices capable of entering and viewing emoji often use them on social networking sites such as Twitter. However, even today, several major platforms and browsers don’t natively support emoji, which leads to their users not seeing the text the way they should be.

To solve this problem to quite an extent, Twitter has now started identifying emoji in tweets and replacing them with their own custom emoji on the web that can be viewed regardless of the platform or the browser. Read more »
