Few weeks back we talked about Rovio’s upcoming Angry Birds Transformers (sigh) game. Other than telling the game is coming soon, no other details were provided back then.
Rovio has now released a new trailer for the game. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show much either. The CGI trailer shows the red bird that also looks like Optimus Prime fighting bad pigs. He can obviously transform from one form to another. Oddly enough, he also has a pig Transformer fighting alongside him, fighting another pig Transformer. Read more »
Snapchat’s incredible popularity has its competitors scrambling to come up with an equivalent service to engage the masses. Despite several attempts, no one has really managed to match Snapchat’s success.
After failing to acquire Snapchat, Facebook came up with the godawful Slingshot app, which I’m sure even Facebook employees aren’t using at this point, leave alone the average users. But Facebook has an ace up its sleeve in the form of Instagram, and so now they are using Instagram’s popularity to take on Snapchat. Read more »
Google has started rolling out an update for the Play Store application on Android that updates the UI with Material Design elements. This is the same update we heard about before back when it had leaked.
Those expecting a complete UI overhaul might be a bit disappointed, however, as this can only be called a semi-Material Design update. The only thing changed here are the product pages for the apps, games, movies, music, magazines and books. The actual homepage (which is terrible, by the way) and the category lists still look the same as before. Read more »

As it happens, Gameloft gave away early access copies of the iOS version of their latest Modern Combat 5: Blackout game to contest winners. Instead of being thankful and playing the game as they were expected, some of these people cracked the game and uploaded it on pirating sites. Read more »
Modern Combat 5: Blackout is the latest installment in Gameloft’s series of first person action games. The games have traditionally been based on warfare and very close in nature and style to the Call of Duty series of games on the PC and consoles.
The Modern Combat series has taken it up a notch with every installment, with improved visuals, more explosive action and expanded gameplay options every time. Apple has greatly expanded the availability of its 2-step verification process for Apple IDs. While it was only available in 11 countries previously, the feature is now available in 59 countries worldwide.
For those not aware, 2-step verification or authentication puts an extra step between entering your ID and password and logging in. It sends a verification message with a code to a preset device or number and only upon entering that code will the person be allowed to log in. This way, even if someone gets access to your password, they still can’t access your account unless they have access to the special code. Read more »
Facebook has launched a new application exclusive to those with a verified account. Called Mentions, it helps all those celebrities on Twitter to keep track of all the replies they receive.
Other than being available only for verified users, the app is currently only available in the US and only on the iPhone. Read more »
Snapchat has added a new filter setting in the app called geofilters.
Now when you take a picture, just slide right and you will see a bunch of text filters that correspond to your location. You’ll only see filters for your location and it’s mostly just colorful text in fancy fonts and some images overlaid on your photos. If that’s something you’re into, then you have that option now. The video shows a guy trying to restore an old bike for his dad and how he uses Microsoft products to achieve that. We see the Lumia 1020, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, OneDrive and even OneNote in action. Read more »
Android Police have revealed some screenshots that showcase what the next major version of Play Store on Android is going to look like. The design changes are based on the Material Design language that Google introduced at I/O this year.

Mighty Adventure is a simple platforming game with a little twist. The game features three characters and you can switch between them any time during the game instantly depending upon the situation and their abilities.
The Wolf Among Us has been a hugely successful game for developer Telltale Games. Makers of the famous Walking Dead series, TWAU followed a similar gameplay pattern but with a completely different story and characters.

We all know CGI is used a lot these days. Especially in shows like Game of Thrones with dragons, direwolves and walking skeletons (among other things). But those sets, those look pretty real, right? And the castles and the ship? That can’t be CGI. Except it is.

Google has flipped the switch on the screencasting feature in Android KitKat devices, which means a select few handsets running this OS (4.4.1 and above) will now see the Screencast option available in the expanded notifications screen as well as Display options in the Settings app.
LG has announced a new wearable device called KizOn that will let you keep a track of your children. The device includes built-in wireless and networking functionality and is worn on your wrist like a watch.
KizOn includes GPS, Wi-Fi and calling functionality that will let you keep a track of your children’s whereabouts on your smartphone. You can configure the device to call one particular number that can be changed from your smartphone. You can also call the device from a phone and if the child does not answer the call within ten seconds from one of the pre-configured numbers, the call is automatically accepted so that the parent will be able to use the microphone on the device and listen to what their kid is up to.
