EVGA GTX 460 2WIN – the first dual-core Fermi NVIDIA card

It was just three days ago when AMD launched the new graphic king and now its NVIDIA’s turn to show something new. The EVGA’s GTX 460 2WIN is made of two GTX 460 GPUs (700MHz) resulting in 672 CUDA cores, 2GB DDR5 (3600MHz), 3xDVI and 1xMini-HDMI ports.

As you can see it’s not the monster geared to fight with the titans, but it’s more of a budget card offering better performance for less money.

The HD6990 is the new “world’s fastest” card. It’s basically two HD6970 soldered into a single board. Unfortunately the price is also two times higher – $700.

$800 Motorola Xoom is now available at Verizon USA, no Adobe Flash and no LTE just yet

The first Android 3.0 Honeycomb-based tabled – the Motorola Xoom – is now available in Verizon USA network. It can be yours for $600 on two-year contract with data plan or $800 without any commitment. A Wi-Fi-only version is yet to be released.

So, Motorola Xoom is available at Verizon, currently only the Wi-Fi+3G (LTE-ready) model though. There are three payment options for you:

  • $600 on 2-year contract with a data plan
  • $800 on 1-year contract with a data plan
  • $800 free retail price

Watch the Samsung MWC 2011 press conference in a 2-minute time-lapse flick [VIDEO]

The HTC press conference might be one of the key events of this year’s MWC but Samsung’s was one of the milestones. The manufacturer did quite a show for their Unpacked event and announced the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Microsoft announced it’s ready with the first service packs for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Both SPs are already handed to Microsoft’s OEM partners and we can download them on 22 February.

Android 2.3.3 announced, brings some new NFC capabilities along

Hold your excitement, this is not the next Android version. The 2.3.3 is a minor feature update adding new NFC APIs for developers that we are going to see implemented in the NFC-enabled apps and devices later.

NFC (short for Near Field Communication) is a technology that’s been implemented in several mobile phones by Nokia through the years, but it seems it will only take off in 2011 as some new, and hopefully popular smartphones get support for it.

Google releases their awesome Google Translate as an app for the iPhone

Google has just released their official Google Translate a separate translate app for the Apple’s iOS. It’s a must have one for quick translations on the go, so please, open your AppStore and take it. You can even speak aloud what you want translated.

The new Google Translate app is much similar to the recently updated Android one. It supports both voice and text input as well as voice and text translations. But the thing that surprised me the most is the incredible accuracy. Read more »

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play first official video commercial leaks, looks creepy

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just got its first official ad… via unofficial channels. As everything else about the PSP phone, this video is another leak surfaced quite ahead of the official premiere on 13 February.

If Sony Ericsson is really concerned about keeping its secrets safe, perhaps it should put a bit more effort into keeping these stuff for itself. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not complaining. Everybody likes to have a sneak peek at things ahead of the official announcement.

Sony PSP NGP with first hi-res trailer, gameplay videos inside
