Sony has announced that it will be shutting down its PlayStation Mobile division. Starting July 15, no further content will be published to the store and from September 10 onwards users won’t be able to re-download previously purchased titles.
PlayStation Mobile was a platform running on select PlayStation certified Android devices along with Sony’s PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV consoles. A game on PlayStation Mobile could be purchased and played on any of these certified devices. Read more »

One of the few features of Samsung’s TouchWiz that people seem to actually like is the multi-window support (pictured below). This has evolved quite a lot over time, with every new flagship made by the Korean company. It’s now a pretty mature system, in fact. But what if you like Android the way Google envisions it? Well, up until now there’s been no such feature in ‘vanilla’ Android, but that state of things may change soon.
Google is apparently working on integrating multi-window support in Android itself. This might see the light of day with the next major release of the company’s mobile OS. Last November Google officially outed its redesigned (and Material Design-infused) Calendar app for Android, and today it’s bringing the same design and features to iOS. The search giant has released Google Calendar for iPhone, and it’s already up for grabs in the iTunes App Store.

Industry sources hint at a major cooperation between the two companies that has been under way for quite some time now. So, all things considered, AMD might be returning to the mobile GPU scene as a vendor for tailor-made graphics accelerators for MediaTek SoCs. PhotoFast has built a solid reputation for delivering one of the first iOS flash drive solutions. Granted, it is sort of a weird niche, but they are still pretty good at what they do. The company’s latest creation is very in-tune with Apple’s new 12-inch MacBook, announced yesterday. That laptop is a pioneer in its adoption of the new USB type C standard and PhotoFast has wasted no time in offering what could well be your first accessory to go with the ultra-thin Mac.
The flash drive in question is essentially meant to be used with iOS devices, through the lightning port on one side, as well as more conventional USB hosts, like PCs, thanks to the type A connector on the other end. Upon first inspection, there is nothing really special about the device, but a closer inspection reveals, that the traditional USB houses the much smaller, reversible type C connector. The United States President Barack Obama has announced a new program aimed at getting more Americans rapidly trained for well-paying technology jobs. Dubbed TechHire, the initiative will see Obama administration providing $100 million in competitive grants to support innovative approaches aimed at helping low-skill individuals with childcare responsibilities, disabilities, and limited English proficiency, get training in the technology sector.
“America has about 5 million open jobs today, more than at any point since 2001. Over half a million of those job openings are in information technology fields like software development, network administration, and cybersecurity,” the White House said. “The average salary in a job that requires information technology (IT) skills – whether in manufacturing, advertising, retail or banking – is 50 percent higher than the average private-sector American job.” Read more »
