LG Watch Urbane LTE goes on sale tomorrow, only on LG U+

LG is launching the Watch Urbane LTE in South Korea on LG U+ tomorrow. The watch will cost KRW 650,000 ($590/€540) and will come with a contract for KRW 10,000 a month ($9/€8.3).

With it you’ll get 50 minutes of voice calls – the Urbane LTE can do regular and VoLTE calls – 250 messages and 250MB of data. Read more »

Facebook announces Messenger Platform and Businesses on Messenger

Facebook has announced two new Messenger related features at its F8 event. The first is Messenger Platform. Facebook has turned its messaging service into a platform, that allows integration with third party applications.

For example, you can now have the Giphy app integrated into the Facebook Messenger app on your phone, which lets you access Giphy content from within the Messenger app. Giphy now integrates within the Messenger app, allowing you to choose a GIF, which you can then send to your friends on the Messenger app. The person on the other end receives the GIF in their Messenger app. Messenger shows them the app that you used to send the GIF and then can click on the handily available Install button to install the app if they don’t have it. Hoop by Coloud is an active headset for your Microsoft Lumia smartphone

Microsoft teamed up with the Swedish manufacturer of audio accessories Coloud to create an active headset for Lumia smartphones. Hoop by Coloud is already available in Europe for €29.

Buy a Galaxy S6 or S6 edge from T-Mobile, get free Netflix for one year

If you want to get a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge but haven’t settled on a carrier to sign a contract with, this might help. T-Mobile will give you a one year subscription to Netflix for free if you buy either Galaxy S6 device from it.

Like the carrier says, this is a value of more than $100, so if you are also a fan of Netflix, it basically means you’ll be paying a lot less for the smartphone as you would at other carriers. Read more »

Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 demoed on video, Oppo is unimpressed

Qualcomm seems to be pretty proud of its Quick Charge 2.0 technology, that is an integral part of some high-end smartphones which use its top of the line chipsets. The Motorola Nexus 6 is in this situation, and Qualcomm has used this particular device in a new promotional video for Quick Charge 2.0.

Three of them, to be precise. They’re said to be identical, except each uses a different charger. The leftmost unit has a 5V 1A charger, the center one gets a 5V 2A charger, while the Nexus 6 on the right works with a Quick Charge 2.0 enabled charger. Read more »

Sony to push 2.50 system update for PlayStation 4 tomorrow

Sony promised several interesting features at the launch of the PlayStation 4 gaming console but not all of them were available out of the box. But now the company plans to correct that by rolling out the 2.50 system update for the PlayStation 4 gaming console.

LG G4 concept looks mighty cool

With a rumored announcement in April, the LG G4 is the next big-name flagship to come this year. Inspired by intensifying leaks, designer Ivo Maric headed for the drawing board and came up with a very appealing concept of how the upcoming high-end smartphone might look.

YouTube Live coming soon to take on Twitch

As some of you surely remember YouTube has its sights set on Twitch – the popular game streaming platform, and was on the verge of paying $1 billion to own it last year. The online video giant has surely recognized the growing popularity of online streams and has likely not given up on its goals to enter the market.

Seeing how the deal was cancelled, allegedly due to “antitrust concerns” and Twitch was acquired by Amazon, for the sum of $970 million it is only natural that YouTube is looking at other options to deliver the service. New Opera Mini update for Windows Phone brigs a fresh GUI

Opera Mini has been around of Windows phone devices, since September 2014, so quite some time has passed. The browser is still in beta, but a brand new update signifies that development is still active on the project.

Delhi Government asks IT Ministry to block Uber, Ola mobile apps

Yesterday, Uber sent out a promotional email to its loyal customers for bringing more users on-board the Uber app. In return, those users will be rewarded with Uber Credits that can be used to pay for a ride. The promotion was launched in all major cities of India.

Amazon launches Kindle Voyage in India

Amazon has brought its flagship Kindle model to the Indian stores. The company is selling both, the Wi-Fi as well as the 3G model on its Indian website. The Kindle Voyage is priced at Rs. 16,499 ($265) and the Kindle Voyage 3G is priced at Rs. 20,499 ($329).

The Kindle Voyage is the thinnest Kindle Amazon ever made, with a new flush glass front and magnesium body. The glass on the front is anti-glare and textured to give the feel of paper. Read more »
