Pricing for Adobe CS6 packages announced, coming on May 7

Adobe will officially announce all of its latest products part of the Creative Suite 6 today at a dedicated event in San Francisco. Expected to arrive on May 7, the design and video editing products can be had in a variety of suites.

Skype for Windows Phone no longer in beta

Microsoft has released the final version of the Skype client for Windows Phone devices. The latest version includes the ability to search and add contacts, call landline phones, improved app startup time and general bug fixes.

However, there are still some caveats left. The application cannot run in the background, which means once you exit it you cannot get calls anymore, nor do you get any toast notifications from it. Read more »

SAM offers a free software method to unlock your iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS

Yup, it’s the big news. The unlock everyone’s been waiting for is here. It comes totally free courtesy of a nifty little program called SAM.

The app has been around for quite a while allowing users that have hactivated their iPhones to use them in other than the legitimate carrier, while still enjoying cool features such as Facetime, Push notifications, and evading the battery drainage connected with hacktivating.

Only now however, has SAM been updated to really spoof the credentials of a legitimate SIM card to an extent that allows you to use a SIM card from another carrier without the phone locking down. It essentially tricks iTunes into thinking there’s a SIM from the intended carrier inside the phone. Of course, there’s a caveat or two. Read more »

Latest update to Facebook for Android will flood your app drawer with two additional icons

Facebook has released a new update for its Android app. Version 1.9.0 brings a much needed performance update, and the whole app feels a lot faster than before.

Unfortunately, it also brings along a new nuisance. Facebook has decided that it will be a good idea to provide direct shortcuts to the messenger and image upload service, so now they have dedicated icons for both of these in your app drawer, taking the total count of icons for a single app to three! Google+ SMS now available in 41 additional countries

If you haven’t heard of the Google+ SMS service until now, I wouldn’t blame you. The service isn’t particularly popular (neither is Google+, for that matter) and was only available in the US and India until now.

Google has now expanded the list of countries where the service is now functional and it includes the following places: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bahrain, Benin, Cambodia, Cameroon, Congo (DRC), Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. Crysis 3 teaser trailer released

A few days ago, Crytek announced that the third game in the Crysis series will be out in 2013 and now the first teaser trailer has officially been released.

Being true to its name, the teaser shows only a handful of the key elements of the game. For starters, you see that the game is based again in New York City like the previous one, except this time it is within a sealed off portion covered by the Nanodome. Read more »

Microsoft reports record-breaking Q3 results

Microsoft has announced its Q3 financial results and things are looking bright for the software giant. The record-breaking revenue for the quarter ending on March 31, 2012 was $17.41 billion, representing a 6% growth over the same period of 2011.

Additionally, the operating income saw a 12% boost compared to last year and reached $6.37 billion. Net income was $5.11 billion ($0.60 per diluted share), which is actually slightly lower than it was in the holiday quarter, but this doesn’t make Steve Ballmer any less optimistic about the future.. We’re done testing the HTC One V battery life, here are the results

The HTC One V just completed its final lap in our battery test course and we’re ready to share how the most affordable member of the One family did. It has a relatively small LCD screen and a single CPU core, so its 1500mAh battery should last longer than the slightly larger battery in the One S, which has a bigger AMOLED screen and two CPU cores to feed.

HTC haven’t listed any official battery life numbers on their site, so this is our first look at how long the One V lasts on a daily basis. Read more »
