Microsoft has released the final version of the Skype client for Windows Phone devices. The latest version includes the ability to search and add contacts, call landline phones, improved app startup time and general bug fixes.

Yup, it’s the big news. The unlock everyone’s been waiting for is here. It comes totally free courtesy of a nifty little program called SAM.

The app has been around for quite a while allowing users that have hactivated their iPhones to use them in other than the legitimate carrier, while still enjoying cool features such as Facetime, Push notifications, and evading the battery drainage connected with hacktivating.

Only now however, has SAM been updated to really spoof the credentials of a legitimate SIM card to an extent that allows you to use a SIM card from another carrier without the phone locking down. Facebook has released a new update for its Android app. Version 1.9.0 brings a much needed performance update, and the whole app feels a lot faster than before.

A few days ago, Crytek announced that the third game in the Crysis series will be out in 2013 and now the first teaser trailer has officially been released.

Microsoft has announced its Q3 financial results and things are looking bright for the software giant. The record-breaking revenue for the quarter ending on March 31, 2012 was $17.41 billion, representing a 6% growth over the same period of 2011.

Additionally, the operating income saw a 12% boost compared to last year and reached $6.37 billion. Net income was $5.11 billion ($0.60 per diluted share), which is actually slightly lower than it was in the holiday quarter, but this doesn’t make Steve Ballmer any less optimistic about the future.. The HTC One V just completed its final lap in our battery test course and we’re ready to share how the most affordable member of the One family did. It has a relatively small LCD screen and a single CPU core, so its 1500mAh battery should last longer than the slightly larger battery in the One S, which has a bigger AMOLED screen and two CPU cores to feed.

HTC haven’t listed any official battery life numbers on their site, so this is our first look at how long the One V lasts on a daily basis. Read more »
