The original Moto G from 2013 started out life at Verizon costing $100 sans contract, which is a very good amount for the specs. But that was then. Months have passed, it’s now 2015, so Best Buy decided it’s time for a discount.

Hence, the well known retailer will give you a Moto G for Verizon for just $19.99. Again, without a contract. This price drop now makes the original Moto G one of the cheapest prepaid phones for Big Red, and possibly the best of them all in terms of its price per features ratio. Read more »

LG G4 teardown reveals an easy to repair flagship

LG G4 is the newest flagship on the market introduced just last week. It packs a 5.5″ improved IPS Quad HD display and is the first to run on the Snapdragon 808 chipset with a 6-core processor. The device is already on sale in South Korea and naturally is first teardown is now live.

Unlike many other top smartphones today, the LG G4 still offers removable rear cover and user-replaceable battery. This suggests a simpler assembly and construction of the inner parts and indeed this turned out to be true. In fact, LG G4 seems to be the easiest top-tier smartphone for repair this year. Nubia allegedly caught astroturfing negative comments about Meizu online

Astroturfing is the practice of pretending to be a genuine person on internet forums, comments sections, and online reviews and posting positive or negative comments about a company while actually being on the payroll of a competitor. As unfortunate as it is, it’s also quite common, which makes it hard to take any comment or online review seriously.

Sooner or later though, somebody gets caught doing it, and this time it seems it’s Nubia. The sub-division of ZTE that recently made its way in India is already off to a not so great start. The email you see above is allegedly from a social media influencer apparently working for Nubia PR, requesting others to post negative comments about Meizu, who also recently opened shop in India, on Meizu’s Facebook profile, as well as post negative reviews on the their Amazon page. Google to launch a new Photo service by end of this month

Millions of photos are stored online at cloud services of Flickr and Facebook. But not many would prefer about Google’s own photo service nested in Google+.

That’s why Google is working to reveal a new photo tool that will allow storage and sharing the images to popular social networks such as Facebook and Twitter easily. Oppo unveils Compass fitness tracker, Okey bluetooh headset and selfie stick

You didn’t think that Oppo will miss the chance to some cool announce accessories alongside its R7 and R7 Plus phones at today’s presentation, did you? The company just revealed the Compass fitness tracker, O-Key Bluetooth earpiece as well as a selfie stick. The latter is just 18cm long, but since we hate those, we won’t be wasting your time with it.

As for the the Oppo Compass fitness tracker, it sports a circular display and a heart rate monitor. Exact specs are scarce, but it seems that the body of the tracker is aluminum and comes with a rubber band. Read more »

Apple quietly introduced its first official iPhone Lightning Dock solution for iPhone models announced since 2013. The accessory debuted alongside an updated 15” MacBook Pro with Force Touch trackpad and a new 27” Retina iMac with 5K display earlier today.

The new iPhone Lightning Dock features a white square base with rounded corners. The gadget supports Lightning port-packing iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPod touch 5th generation models. Read more »

Layout by Instagram is now available for Android devices

The photo collage editor Layout by Instagram is now available for Android devices. The application was a available only for iOS since its launch in late March.

Apple Watch receives its first ever software update, filled with performance improvements

Today Apple has pushed out the first software update for its first wearable. The Apple Watch is getting Watch OS 1.0.1 through the companion iPhone app for the smartwatch. The download comes in at 51.6MB, and as the version number implies this is all about fixing bugs and improving performance for various bits of the Apple Watch experience.

In fact, Apple lists no less than six items under the “improved performance” heading in its official release notes. So after applying the new software, expect to see enhanced operation in third party apps, Siri, measuring stand activity, calculating calories for indoor cycling and rowing workouts, distance and pace calculations during outdoor walk and run workouts, as well as better accessibility features. MixRadio brings its streaming music to iOS and Android

MixRadio is a streaming music service that started life as Nokia Music. It then got renamed to MixRadio, picked up by Microsoft as part of its Nokia acquisition, and subsequently sold to Japan’s Line Corp., which operates the messaging app with the same name. From the moment the music service got out of Microsoft’s hands, everyone was expecting it to become available for platforms other than Windows.

And today marks that much-anticipated event. MixRadio is now out for iOS and Android, in addition to Windows Phone. You can download its mobile apps from the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store. Interestingly, though, it will continue to be preloaded on Microsoft’s Lumia devices. Read more »

Samsung’s multi-device sync Flow app now available on latest Galaxy flagships
