Besides point-and-shoot cameras, Sony also announced a wide range of camcorders last night. The new offerings range from the entry-level $250 camera and move up the range adding features along the way. The cameras have versions with a built-in projector and the higher-end models have manual controls.

The new Xperia Z and ZL were the stars of the Sony show yesterday, but the Japanese company also unveiled a number of digital cameras. Five new point and shoot cameras debuted and they are all pretty feature-packed.
Potentially the most popular of the new cameras will be the CyberShot WX80 – a $200 camera with a 16.2MP sensor, 8x optical zoom (25-200mm), 1080i60 video capture and built-in Wi-Fi. Read more »

Good for us, because we now have the highlights video of Huawei’s press conference, held yesterday at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. The event saw the announcement of the Huawei Ascend Mate and the Ascend D2.
Last night Huawei’s press conference was not streamed live (unlike Samsung’s and Sony’s) so we were kinda left out of the fun. Luckily, we had our own reporters there so we knew what was going on.

Sony took to the CES floor today to showcase their new 56-inch, 4K OLED TV prototype. You can probably tell from these limited specs (frankly the only ones you need to know) that it is going to look stunning and showgoers have reported that it does indeed.

As promised back in November, Samsung showcased their first 4K television to the world. As it happens, at a monstrous 85-inches, it is also the world’s largest 4K television in the world.
The Samsung UN85S9, as it is called, features a unique floating design. The panel is held up by the sides within a metal frame, which gives the impression of it floating in the center. As you can see, the designers haven’t really been successful in simulating that effect but nonetheless the design is striking. Read more »
At the press day before CES 2013 officially kicks off Intel unveiled its fourth-generation Intel Core processor, which will reportedly be able to extend the battery life of latest mobile PCs to 9 hours.
Formerly known as Haswell the new chipset is made with ultrabooks-slash-tablets in mind and could reach 13 hours of battery when docked to a keyboard. Read more »

Madfinger Games’ sequel to the popular zombie shooter game Dead Trigger looks to be slated for a Q2 2013 release, according to the company’s Twitter feed.
The game is also to be one of the first to be released on Nvidia’s new Tegra 4 SoC, and will feature a THD version designed specifically for Tegra-based Android tablets. Read more »
