The Jelly Beans statute placed in Google’s headquarters to celebrate the launch of Android 4.1 has suffered major damages from overheating.

Sony has freshened up its XQD card lineup – the new S series cards will launch with 64GB capacity and a whopping 168MB/s data transfer rates. The old H series maxed out at 125MB/s.

A Nikon D4 can pipe 108 RAW shots in a non-stop burst, which according to Sony is enough to capture the men’s 100m sprint final from start to finish if you set the framerate at 10fps. Read more »

At Day 2 of Google I/O which is all about Chrome, Google announced that offline editing is about to become available for Google Docs.

After getting so much praise for its incredible 41MP camera, the Nokia 808 PureView decided to take a well deserved vacation. Instead of spending all day on the beach though, the 808 found itself shooting a video of the racing catamaran Nacra Infusion MKII.

Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak has shared his honest opinion on Siri while on a visit to a farm dedicated to saving neglected horses.

Out of the blue Google just announced it has acquired Quickoffice, the popular productivity suite for viewing and editing document files for smartphones.

Google hasn’t provided much details about the acquisition, so it’s unknown whether we should expect an update to Quickoffice or whether it’ll even continue its existence under the same moniker. Read more »

OmniVision has a new sensor ready for primetime – but unlike the monster that does 4K2K video, this one does “only” 1080p and is intended for the front panel of the smartphone (or tablet).

The 2MP sensor is only 3mm tall so it can be used as a front-facing camera on smartphones but also those thin ultrabooks. Read more »

After buying Instagram for a billion dollars, Zuckerberg now has plans for acquiring Opera Software, according to recent reports.

The reason Facebook might be interested in acquiring Opera is the increased mobile traffic to the social network, which the company is unable to fully take advantage of. Buying Opera might be a huge step in solving this problem, according to analysts, and if Zuckerbeg wants to make this happen, he might have to fork out north of a billion dollars. Read more »

Researchers at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), have refined a technology that allows them to create a new, faster transistor.

Graphene’s electron mobility is more than 200 times faster than silicon, and semiconductor devices with this technology are expected to have highly increased performance. Read more »
