Samsung unveiled a new mirrorless camera and it’s tiny – the Samsung NX mini is 22.5mm thick and its metal body weighs 158g. It may be tiny, but it’s smart – the NX mini a smart camera to boot, though Samsung is mum on the OS (it’s most likely Tizen).

Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo went official just three days ago, running on a Tizen-based OS. This time around though Samsung has confirmed both smartwatches will support third-party apps.

Tizen OS was thrown into the fray at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona right away as Samsung announced the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches.
The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are pretty similar devices but the Neo omits the 2MP camera, for a reduced weight of 55g. The Gear 2 will weigh 68g. Read more »
According to a report in USA Today, the upcoming refresh of the Samsung Galaxy Gear will boot Tizen OS. The Korean giant is widely expected to launch its next generation smartwatch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S5 next week, on February 24.

The Tizen Association announced today it is has started partnering with 36 major companies, which will bring a broader support for the Tizen OS at launch. The list includes notable tech companies, game publishers, electronic giants and mobile carriers.
This is great news for the Tizen platform and gives it a lot of potential for when it finally becomes commercially available. Yesterday, news broke that Tizen 3.0 will be available in the third quarter of 2014, so there’s quite some time remaining until it gets adoption beyond developers. Read more »
At the Tizen OS Developer Summit in Seoul, Samsung’s executive vice president Jong-Deok Choi revealed that the company’s NX-300M mirrorless camera actually runs Tizen. The camera has been on sale for a month now, but Samsung is just now breaking the news.

An under-the-radar company called Systena has launched a 10.1″ Tizen tablet in Japan. Don’t get too excited though as the slate is aimed exclusively at developers working with the OS.
The Systena-made tablet is part of a larger developer toolkit, which includes manuals, consulting services from the company and miscellaneous software tools. The tablet itself is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Read more »
Samsung integrated its Bada OS into the Tizen OS project earlier this year and we even saw few screenshots of the brand new mobile operating system that was developed by the global market leaders. Now, the hands-images and the video of what seems to be the first Tizen powered tablet has been leaked.
The Tizen 2.0 powered tablet goes by the name Systena and sports a 10.1-inch full HD display. Systena is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex A9 processor along with 2 GB of RAM. Read more »
Here’s the first official peek at Intel’s Tizen overlay dubbed Obsidian. It’s probably a very early build as you can see that the animations aren’t all that polished but we get too see what sort of UI dynamics Intel is planning for its own Tizen version.
The UI starts off with an All Apps drawer which is reminiscent of Android and features flat icons navigated by means of side-swipes. More after the break. Read more »
