Leading the charge of the new LG Series III is the LG L90. Its 4.7″ IPS LCD display is of qHD resolution resulting in a pixel density of 234ppi. The display itself boasts nice colors and vieweing angles, but contrast isn’t particularly great.
Below the display, there’s a physical Home button sitting between a back and menu capacitive keys. On the dual SIM version, there’s no physical Home button, but four capacitive ones – back, home, menu and dual SIM manager.

Sony has tweeted out an image (shown below) of processed film, lots of sticky note paper and scribbles with the promise that “Something extraordinary is coming…”.
While we cannot gather much from the laconic image what we can guess at is that the something in question is coming in a couple of days at the Mobile World Congress and could very well turn out to be the Xperia Z2. Perhaps the numerous colorful props in the image would indicate a black, white, red, purple, yellow and pink color option, or perhaps we’re looking too much into it? Read more »

Part 2 of Nokia’s #GreenDuck teasers is out and the paddling of ducks hits an obstacle – a dam of discarded phones (there’s a traffic light there too, for some unknown reason).
Nokia also put up a Green Duck page on its web site. The page just lists the two teaser vines but its design is more interesting – it looks just like the custom interface on the Nokia X A110 in the spy shots from earlier today. Read more »
LG recently announced the G Pro 2, which features an improved version of the 13 megapixel camera on the G2, and is one of the main features of this phone. So LG decided to show off its low light capabilities by photographing the aurora borealis, also known as the northern lights.
Although visible clearly to the naked, the aurora borealis is not the easiest thing to capture on a mobile phone camera as it requires a long exposure shot to capture properly. With the help of optical image stabilization, the G Pro 2 can clearly expose much longer than most phones, although the photographers used tripods to take these shots, which sort of defeats the purpose. The Samsung Galaxy Core LTE’s visit to our office ends up with its full battery life test. The phone is oriented towards those seeking an LTE phone on a budget without compromising battery life. We’ll see if the Galaxy Core LTE fits the bill.
At least on paper, it appears this to be the case. The Galaxy Core LTE sports a 2,100mAh battery, which is more than decent for a 4.5″ qHD screen. However, we’re not sure it’ll be enough to cover the losses from the ageing Cortex-A9 CPU architecture, which isn’t as power efficient as its more modern rivals. Read more »

Nokia’s Vine account joined in on the teasing of Nokia’s upcoming Mobile World Congress event. After yesterday’s teaser images from Weibo, today’s vine isn’t all that revealing but it uses the characteristic green that has become associated with the Nokia X A110 (Normandy).
Yesterday it was monkeys, today ducks. Where’s Nokia going with all the cartoony animals? Read more »
