The popular jailbreaker’s tool redsn0w has received a major update today. The new version is not only capable of jailbreaking iOS6 on A4 devices (like the iPhone 4), but it also comes with enhanced functionality regarding iOS5-to-iOS5 restores, now that Apple doesn’t allow those any longer.
Unfortunately, the jailbreak solution is tethered-only, meaning that once you use it, you would have to connect your device to redsn0w every time you reboot it. Read more »
Lately, it’s been quiet on the iPad Mini rumors side. When 10 Oct, the rumored invitation day, came and went, we started worrying that previous rumors have let us down. While this may be the case indeed, not all is lost, as new rumors suggest the announcement event has only been moved to October 23.

Google has pushed out a new update for their Google+ app on iOS and Android. One of the key new features in the iOS version is support for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. Another new feature is Google+ page owners now being able to view, post and comment from the mobile app.

GoPro has released an app for the iPhone (3GS, 4, 4S and 5), iPad (1, 2 and 3) and iPod Touch that lets you “Connect. View. Control.” an HD HERO2 remotely.
The app is free but you’ll need to get a $99.99 Wi-Fi BacPac add-on accessory for your GoPro camera in order to use it and it isn’t compatible with the older HD HERO model. Read more »
The last few days Rovio released a couple of teasers about a Star Wars-themed Angry Birds title. There was even an event in New York and, long story short – a new Angry Birds is coming, along with board games and dedicated merchandise (plush toys, etc.).

Around three to four thousand workers have gone on a strike at Foxconn’s factory in Zhengzhou. The reason? Apple’s new and stricter demands over the iPhone 5 quality.

After launching the superb Rayman Origins on consoles and desktop last year, Ubisoft has brought our favorite disjointed character to the mobile platform. Rayman Jungle Run is the latest installment in the long running series of 2D platforming games and is the first game in the series to make an appearance on iOS and Android.
Rayman Jungle Run is not the same game as Rayman Origins, even though it uses similar artwork, but is a completely new game made from the grounds up for the mobile devices with a new control mechanism. Let’s see how it stacks up against the previous games in the series. Read more »
The Maps issue on iOS is still a hot topic for some people and after Tim Cook himself suggested people try third-party solutions, there has been a lot of chest beating from established map makers. Now Google is putting its features where its mouth is and has enabled Street View in the mobile Google Maps site for iOS.

The Apple iPhone 5 launch hasn’t been the smoothest of rides. The phone has faced criticism for various reasons, including build quality, battery life and, most recently, camera performance.

Duo Games, in collaboration with Gameloft, has announced a new wireless controller for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Called the Duo Gamer, the set comes with a wireless controller as well as a dock for your iOS device.
The controller has six buttons on it (four on the front and two on the shoulder), two joysticks and a D-Pad. The dock uses a 30-pin connector and has an HDMI-out for connecting to a larger screen, if required. Read more »

One of the most important applications on the original iPhone was the Maps application that Steve Jobs demoed with a prank call to Starbucks. But it has now come to light that about a month before the phone was announced, no such application even existed on the device.
According to a story by The New York Times, the maps application was not at all part of the original plans for the phone. Steve Jobs thought of having the application on the phone just weeks before the announcement because he thought it would help show off the multi-touch display better. Read more »
